Savva’s career began as a journalist for The Dandenong Journal. Later on, she moved to The Australian newspaper and started working there. Furthermore, she also worked as a correspondent in the Canberra press gallery for The Australian, Herald Sun, and The Age. The journalist also became the Washington correspondent for News Limited.

After the tragic passing of her sister Christina in 1997, she changed her profession to media advisor. She worked as a media advisor for treasurer Peter Costello for six years. In addition, she worked as a staff of Prime Minister John Howard for three years in his cabinet Policy Unit.
