Yandy Smith is relearning how to be a wife after her husband’s release from prison.

Yandy Smith is relearning how to be a wife after her husband’s release from prison.

Mendeecees Harris, the spouse of Love & Hip Hop New York star Yandy Smith-Harris, returned home after four years, only weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic changed lives.

In 2015, Mendeecees was sentenced to 8 to 10 years in prison for narcotics trafficking. From 2005 until 2012, the 37-year-old music manager was involved in illicit behavior and was a part of a drug distribution organization in Rochester, New York.

Harris released a video of herself looking radiant in a stunning floor-length faux-fur coat while walking alongside Mendeecees on January 29, 2020, the day of Mendeecees’ release. He walked up to a garbage can and tossed his jail outfit and shoes in there. After that, he turned around to embrace Harris. The reality star captioned the video, “Never going back…”

Rumors about Harris’ “fake” marriage to Mendeecees have surfaced.

Harris and Mendeecees married in a spectacular ceremony that was broadcast live on VH1 in 2015. Harris disclosed to former bestie Kimbella Vanderhee and JuJu that she and her long-time love weren’t legally married during season seven of Love & Hip Hop: New York.

The reality star revealed in an interview with Essence that she had to wait for her husband’s plea deal before signing the legal paperwork.

Harris said in 2017 that she had finally decided it was time to legitimize her marriage and had completed the paperwork.

The couple is the proud parents of a lovely blended family. Skylar and Ombre are the couple’s two biological children, and Mendeecees Jr. and Aasim are Mendeecees’s children from a previous marriage. In December 2019, they welcomed a daughter, Infinity, into their family, which was documented on Love & Hip Hop.

Harris is readjusting to life as a wife.

The pair stated that they were having trouble adjusting to their new lives after Mendeecees’ release. They admitted that the time spent indoors during quarantine put their relationship to the test, but that they eventually worked it out.

The pair recently shared further details about their new life on The Real Daytime Show. Mendeecees explained that fatherhood after incarceration was different since his children had grown up and he had to reacquaint himself with them.

With her spouse back at home, the host asked Harris if she had to relearn any aspects of her marriage. She claimed that she had only been married for 6 months when her husband was sentenced to prison, so it was her first time learning how to be a wife.

On VH1’s Love & Hip Hop spinoff, Couples Retreat, you can watch the famous pair work on their marriage.
