American journalist Mo Rocca is a well-known correspondent for CBS Sunday Morning, the host of The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation on CBS, and also the host and creator of My Grandmother’s Ravioli on the Cooking Channel.

Rocca is also a regular panelist on National Public Radio’s show Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!

Mo Rocca Came Out as Gay at Age 42

Rocca, also a humorist and actor, took all his time before admitting the truth about his sexuality in public.

He came out as gay, pretty casually, when he was 42-year-old in 2011 during a podcast interview with The Six Pack. The mentioned show talks about “news, views and dudes” and is hosted by Ben Harvey and Dave Rubin in New York.

“I’m just more comfortable with myself now. It’s taken me until I’m 42 to begin to feel this way,” Rocca stated in the interview.

Rocca, who has nearly a half-million Twitter followers, further disclosed that he was single at the time, and also talked about being outside Stonewall Inn the night New York enacted marriage equality.

“I tweeted about it. It was very memorable, very emotional, it was a great place to be,” he added to his latter statement.

Some years later, on September 23, 2015, he also delivered a reading at Madison Square Garden’s Papal Mass in New York.

Presently, Rocca is a member of NLGJA, the association of LGBTQ journalists, and often participates in sessions organized by the team.

Who Is His Boyfriend/Partner?

While speaking to Page Six magazine in February 2018, Rocca stated that he had a boyfriend at that time.

“I have a boyfriend. But I live by myself in the Village,” he said.

The journalist had similarly mentioned his boyfriend in another interview with The Parade on October 2017. He said:

That being said, he has preferred not to reveal anything about his partner to date. And presently, it is also unclear if he is still together with his boyfriend or not.

Rocca Was Brought Up With Two Siblings

A graduate of Harvard University with a degree in Literature, Rocca was born on January 28, 1969, in Bethesda, Maryland. His real name is Maurice Alberto Rocca.

He belongs to mixed ethnicity as his father is an Italian-American and his mother, a Colombian.

His parents raised him alongside his two siblings: Larry Rocca and Frank Rocca.
