Ospina began her career as a reporter at a local radio station, and after several years of working at small stations, she joined KTLA in Los Angeles, where she remained for six years.

Not only has the weather forecaster worked for a news station in real life, but she has also played the part of a reporter in various films. Drew Peterson: Untouchable and The Craigslist Killer are two of her films.
