The enormous wealth of ZZ Top vocalist Billy Gibbons is revealed through his collection of vehicles and guitars.

Billy Gibbons has become well-known not just for his outstanding musical career but also for his love of guitars, cars, and collecting them.

The vocalist for ZZ Top has always had a passion for guitars and cars. For most individuals, this passion translates into owning a few things, but Gibbons has elevated his love to a higher plane.

The 71-year-old artist is certain to have pricey taste in possessions given his $60 million net worth.

Examining Gibbon’s Auto Collection

Although he has a sizable collection of vehicles, we can look at a few of them.

1. The Ford Highboy from 1932

The Ford “Highboy,” in Gibbons’ opinion, is his most elegant vehicle. It sports a vintage French-built V8 flathead under the hood.

2. The “Eliminator” 1933 Ford Coupe

The 1933 Ford Coupe, sometimes known as the “Eliminator,” is one of the first modified cars in his collection. It has appeared in a handful of the band’s music videos as well as on two of ZZ Top’s album covers.

3. The “Wiskeyrunner” 1933 Ford Coupe

He also has a unique Ford Coupe called the “Wiskeyrunner” in his collection. Its ragged line connecting the front and rear is an intriguing feature.

Ford’s “Mambo Coupé” from 1936.

The three-window coupe known as the “Mambo Coupé” got its name from a box of Hawaiian shirts that were discovered in the trunk. On the front grille, it bears a screaming skull made of chrome.

5. The “Rat Rod” 1936 Ford Truck

The well-known vocalist was drawn to the Ford model called Rat Rod Model because of its modified hot rod functionality and rat rod appearance. It is powered by a 1953 Ford flathead engine and has an 8-inch rear axle with buggy springs and air shocks. The front axle is a 6-inch drop tube.

6. “CadZZilla,” a 1948 Cadillac Series 62

A combination of early post-war Cadillac designs modified by Larry Erickson, Boyd Coddington, and Craig Naff, Gibbons refers to his Cadillac Sedanette as the “Cadillac.” It boasts a distinctive interior, a distinctive deep purple paint job, and a specially made Holley fuel injection system and heads.

Ford Business Coupe, “Kopperhed,” 7.1950

Due to the Coupe’s copper and black color scheme, which resembles a rattlesnake, he has given it the moniker “Kopperhed.” It is based on a 1950 business coupe with five windows that have been converted to a three-window design.

8. The Mexican Blackbird, a 1958 Ford Thunderbird

Due to a song of the same name, the vintage Ford is referred to as “The Mexican Blackbird.”

9. “Slampala” 1962 Chevrolet Impala

He gave his Impala the slang name “Slampala” by fusing the words “slammed” and “Impala.” A contemporary air-ride suspension, one of its distinctive features, enables the automobile to be set to incredibly low ground clearance.

He has more than 450 guitars.

Over 450 different guitars make up his large guitar collection. Here are a few of these guitars:

1962 Gibson 1. Melody Creator

At the age of 13, he received this electric guitar as a Christmas present.

1959 Gibson The Pearly Gates Les Paul Standard

He gave the moniker “Pearly Gates” to his first Les Paul guitar. The guitarist has a strong attachment to “Pearly Gates,” so much so that he resisted selling it despite receiving a $5 million offer.

The majority of albums have included it. Since he originally acquired it, Gibbons has recorded with ZZ-top.

3. Gold-top Gibson Les Paul

It is a specially constructed pinstriped Les Paul that Gibbons aged and pinstriped himself.

Fourth, 1961 Gibson SG

The 2012 album La Futura by ZZ Top included a Gibson SG.

The fifth Gretsch Jupiter Thunderbird

Bo Diddley gave it to me as a present, and it was included in the 2003 album Mescalero.

6.5 Gibson Flying V from 1958

It was depicted on the front cover of “Fandango!”

7.5 Fender Stratocaster from 1955

This guitar was performed by Gibbons during the recording of “La Grange.”

8. Fender Broadcaster from 1952

On the Tres Hombres album track “Jesus Just Left Chicago,” he performed this.

The collection also includes a 1983 Gibson Explorer, a John Bolin Supermodel Esquire, a John Bolin Broadcaster, and his enormous Bolin/Gretsch Bo Diddley guitar rig.

Beyond Cars and Guitars, His Life

It certainly appears that he just cares about his automobile and guitar collection. He does have a great personal life, despite the fact that it might only be partially true.

Since 2005, Gibbons has been wed to his true love, Gilligan Stillwater. Despite the length of their relationship, they have never had children together. In Houston, Texas, the couple is housed in a lovely home.
