Walker comes from a family having rare but aggressive CDH1 mutation, the major agent for stomach cancer. This alone was responsible for the deaths of over 25 members of his family. Due to the cancer, he was unable to perform at his scheduled tour and couldn’t even sing properly. The singer expressed that there were times where it nearly killed him too. As a result, Walker’s stomach was removed in September 2017 and it took a grueling 9 month period for him to heal. Presently, the singer is completely healthy and enjoying his life to the fullest.

Maungauni in New Zealand and belongs to the Tuhoe and Ngati Tuwharetoa tribe. The singer had a rough childhood and an abusive father. Ross, his father frequently abused him along with his mother and siblings. Due to this his father went to jail. After this, he started smoking marijuana and stealing. Furthermore, Stan was also sexually abused for 9 month by one of his relatives.
Walker turned to music and redeemed himself after attending the local church. As for his education, he initially joined Hamilton Boy’s High School but later changed to New Plymouth Boy’s High School.
