Doris Burke, a sideline reporter for ABC Sports and the NBA Finals, was previously married to Gregg Burke, the Deputy Director of Athletics. In 1989, they exchanged wedding vows. For many years, Gregg and Burke had an exceptional bond as husband and wife. They were unable to maintain their relationship for long and eventually divorced.

Doris gave birth to their first child, Sarah Burke, in 1992, while Gregg and Doris were still together. In 1994, they welcomed their son, Matthew Burke, who was born shortly after Sarah.

She enrolled in Villanova University School of Law in 2015 after completing her undergraduate study. Sarah competed in the 57th Annual Theodore L. Reimel’24 CLAS Moot Court Competition during her second semester. Sarah took first place in the tournament and received the John J. Duffy ’62 Advocacy Cup that year.

Sarah’s mother, Doris, claims she first noticed the symptom on March 11th, while working for ESPN at a Denver Nuggets-Dallas Mavericks game. During her lunch with the TV crew, she felt fatigued and had a severe headache.

Doris also stated in The Woj Pod that from March 14 to 17, she was unable to get out of bed for more than five minutes due to extreme weariness. Sarah’s mother, on the other hand, is now symptom-free. Burke encourages patients to maintain social distance after healing from the COVID-19, practice handwashing, and listen to what trusted medical professionals say.
