Markina Brown had always been fascinated by weather studies and had always aspired to be a television reporter. She worked hard to get a degree in what she wanted to do, and she ended up with three degrees in education.

Markina Brown is an American meteorologist who is currently pursuing her acting career in Hollywood in Los Angeles. She is recognized for her roles in Peppermint (2018), Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk (2016), and Cyborgs Universe as an actress (2018).

She works as a weekend meteorologist at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, as well as on her acting ventures. She was the first black female chief meteorologist in Atlanta, Georgia, and the first African-American female meteorologist in Southern California.

Central Michigan University awarded her a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism and Cinematic Arts. In addition, she has a B.A. in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations.

Markina worked as a meteorologist for several news organizations, including KPLR-TV in St. Louis, Missouri, WSYM in Lansing, Michigan, WBBM-TV in Chicago, Illinois, WOIO/WUAB-TV in Cleveland, Ohio, and KTLA-TV in Southern California, before joining CBS46 Atlanta News as the primary meteorologist in October of 2010.

She worked there for four years before voluntarily leaving her job as a weather forecaster in Atlanta to pursue her acting career in Hollywood (Los Angeles). She did, however, join the CBS affiliate KCBS-TV in Los Angeles in 2016.

They married in a candlelight ceremony at Caesars Palace’s courtyard on June 17, 2008. Her husband’s birthday was celebrated with a lovely wedding, and their honeymoon was spent in Cancun, Mexico.
