One of the fortunate mothers, Lyric Lewis can proudly say that their entire pregnancy was captured on tape.

She presented the Netflix reality cooking series American Barbecue Showdown weeks into her pregnancy, and by the time she wrapped up season 3 of the Peacock sitcom, she was just weeks away from giving birth to her baby. Almost every stage of her pregnancy was documented on camera.

Although the television celebrity has always kept her personal life private, her experience as a mother has been open.

The A.P. Bio actress and Ben Lepley have been together for a considerable amount of time. The pair, who started dating as teenagers, appear to have stood the test of time and have been loyal to one another for almost 20 years.

Even though the pair have already begun their parenting adventure, they have yet to legally become husband and wife. Stevie Jade, their daughter, was born on March 9, 2020.

Lewis posted their first photo as a family of three on Instagram on March 15, 2020, just a few days after she was born. Lepley was smiling as he looked over at Stevie in the lovely black and white portrait, which showed the new mother holding her daughter in her arms.

Lewis remarked in the caption that they had been chatting about her since they were both 17 years old. She added that Stevie’s birthday had become her favorite day ever since. The Girlfriend’s Day singer said that the previous week has exceeded all of her expectations and that there aren’t enough words to describe how in love the new parents are.

On May 9, 2021, Mother’s Day, the actress also posted a sweet photo of the mother-daughter pair.

A New Chapter in Motherhood

When questioned about her new chapter as a mother and welcoming her daughter into the world in an ET interview in 2020. Lewis called her new trip “crazy,” but Lewis’ wife thinks their daughter entered their lives at a perfect time.

She cited Stevie as the reason she had maintained her groundedness, saying that she had kept her mind at ease.

She was a little sentimental at the time due to the coronavirus pandemic, the protests, and everything else that was happening, but her child gave her hope and joy.

Filming when pregnant

In the conversation with ET, the actress also talked about her pregnancy experience while working on A.P. Bio.

She said the experience was fantastic. She added that she couldn’t wait to tell the show’s creator, Mike O’Brien, the good news. But she was immediately concerned that the pregnancy and maternity leave may ruin the plot.

But when she told O’Brien, he was thrilled and said, “Do you want it on the show?” right now.

She enthusiastically answered “yes,” feeling honored to be a part of the cast.

Her heart was filled with joy to watch him fully embrace it, and she is overjoyed that her character is now a parent. Lewis added that she watched every episode and took note of how frequently she caressed her stomach during filming.
