The wedding of the American traffic anchor was originally scheduled for December 31, 2020. However, due to “the rising number of COVID cases” and the pandemic, she had to postpone her New Year’s Eve wedding.
On August 3, 2020, Hettiger announced on Instagram that she and her partner had decided to postpone their wedding and revealed a new wedding date. Her new wedding date has been set for December 31, 2021.
“I have some exciting personal news to share with you all: Mark and I have decided to postpone our wedding,” she wrote. “Given the increased number of COVID cases, the lack of a vaccine, and our New Year’s Eve wedding in the heart of flu season, we chose to wait.”
She went on to say that she and her family were all in good health, which was more important to her at the time. “While I’m sorry that I had to wait an entire year to marry Mark,” she continued, “I still have so many reasons to smile.”

Since early 2018, the engaged couple has been publicly together. And, based on one of Hettiger’s Instagram pictures from October 2018, it appears that they began dating around that time.
Gdowski, also known as Mark Allen, is Hettiger’s fiancé and works as a Cardiology Fellow at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. In 2012, he received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Gdowski has a 9-year-old son named Henry from a prior relationship, and both Gdowski and Hettiger are now responsible for him.
