Kelly Clarkson’s Wedding Dress and Photos – The Singer Filed for Divorce from Her Estranged Husband Recently

Kelly Clarkson has requested a legal divorce from Brandon Blackstock, her estranged husband of nearly eight years.

According to multiple publications, The Voice coach requested that a court sign off on her divorce while leaving other issues like spousal and child support to be resolved later.

Clarkson wants the divorce to be over as quickly as possible because she and Blackstock “both deserve the chance to establish a new life.”

River Rose Blackstock (born June 12, 2014) and Remington Alexander Blackstock (born June 12, 2014) are the singer’s and Blackstock’s children (born April 12, 2016).

Clarkson had stated that she will put her children first during the divorce process. As a result, she wouldn’t be as forthcoming about the divorce as she is about most other parts of her life.

Clarkson and Blackstock are a duo.

The first time Clarkson and Blackstock met was at the Academy of Music Awards in 2006. She was rehearsing with Rascal Flatts, and Blackstock was the band’s tour manager at the time.

But it wasn’t until she met Brandon’s father, Narvel Blackstock, at Super Bowl XLVI in 2012 that she and Blackstock began dating. Clarkson’s manager at the time was Marvel.

In December 2012, Blackstock proposed to Clarkson just ten months after they began dating. She used Twitter to spread the happy news and announce her engagement.

Clarkson told Cosmopolitan a month later, in January 2013, that she was convinced she would spend the rest of her life with Blackstock. She also stated that she was in the best shape of her life.

Wedding

Clarkson and Blackstock married in October 2013 after being engaged for around a year. The singer shared many wedding images with Blackstock, including one in her Temperley Bridal “Jessamine” wedding gown.

Clarkson also shared a video montage from her wedding at Blackberry Farms. Following their marriage, the pair moved in with Blackstock’s two children from his previous marriage, Savannah and Seth.

In the following two years, they welcomed daughter River Rose and son Remington Alexander into their family.

The Voice coach filed for divorce from Blackstock on June 4, 2020, after seven years of marriage, alleging “irreconcilable disagreements” and asking for joint custody of their two children.

Blackstock is requesting $436,000 in spousal and child support every month.

An L.A. County judge gave Clarkson primary physical custody of her two children in November 2020.
