Only a few people have overcome their early flaws and risen to become great leaders. Ilyasah Shabazz is the one who continues to carry on the legacy of her father, Malcolm X, by working for the benefit of society.
With her various art forms, such as books and uplifting speeches, this social warrior has benefited the community. She is currently a Trustee of the Harlem Symphonic Orchestra.
Husband if you’re married?
Ilyasah has always kept her personal life a well guarded secret. To this day, no information regarding her romantic life has surfaced on the internet.
However, according to Washington magazine in 2002, she was a newlywed lady at the time, so we may assume she married somewhere during that year. However, no specific information about her marriage could be located.
Shabazz has kept her love life private as of today, keeping matters near to her heart. However, she appears to be close to Bernice A. King, as seen by a tweet from February 22, 2019.
Parents and siblings bios
Ilyasah Shabazz was born in the United States on July 22, 1962. She is Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz’s third child. Her parents are both historical individuals who have made significant contributions to society. Her father was a religious leader who was killed in 1965 when he was 39 years old. In 1997, at the age of 63, her mother was murdered by her grandson, Malcolm. The 57-year-old lady, like her late father, has a tall stature.
Ilyasah can be introduced in a variety of ways: she is a motivational speaker, an activist, an author, and an educator, to name a few. Atallah Shabazz, Gamilah Lumumba Shabazz, Malaak Shabazz, Qubilah Shabazz, and Malikah Shabazz were reared by her mother together with five other siblings.
Attallah and Qubilah have been the sisters who have been closest to the public media. Atallah pursues a profession as a motivational speaker, actor, and author, which she shares with Ilyasah.
Qubilah, on the other hand, shot to fame in 1995 when she was accused of hiring an assassin to kill Louis Farrakhan. By the way, the Shabazz family accused Louis of murdering Malcolm X before the assassination. She maintained her innocence through a plea agreement the next year.
Ilyasah has authored a book named The Boy Who Grew Up to Become Malcolm X on her father Malcolm X’s journey. Because it was approximately 2002, it’s safe to assume that the book had reached the majority of readers. She has also written books on her youth as well as other works of fiction. She even has a completely functional website that she uses to communicate with her fans.
Following in her father’s footsteps, Ilyasah works to promote higher education, serves as a bridge for future international leaders, and participates in humanitarian activities. She also serves on the boards of the Harlem Symphonic Orchestra, an Educational Center named for her parents, and the Malcolm X Foundation.
She has also appeared in films such as Malcolm X (1992), When They See Us (2019), and Ali & Cavett: The Tale of the Tapes as an actress (2018).
Shabazz’s novel X: A Novel earned her the prize for Outstanding Literary Work at the 2016 NAACP Image Awards.
Ilyasah’s net worth could not be filtered down despite his long career advancement. We did, however, discover her father’s assessed value. Sure, her father Malcolm X is no longer alive, but the claim that the martyr had a net worth of $150,000 still circulates on the internet.
