Erica Erica Mena, formerly Jasmin Mena Samuels, is a reality personality and model best known for her appearances on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: New York.
Her modeling career began with appearances in music videos for musicians like as Chris Brown, Fabolous, Akon, and Fat Joe. Mena has also appeared in VH1’s Scared Famous and Kourtney and Kim Take Miami.
Mena’s autobiographies include Chronicles of a Confirmed Bachelorette and Underneath It All. Her works explore her childhood, love life, and single motherhood experiences.
Safaree Samuels and I have filed for divorce.
On October 7, 2019, the reality star married rapper and media personality Safaree Samuels. They married at the Legacy Castle in New Jersey in a small ceremony.
Their wedding took place after they turned twenty-four on December 24, 2018, and, more importantly, after they announced the birth of their first child together on October 1, 2019.
Mena and her then-husband welcomed their baby Safire Majesty Samuels on February 2, 2020. The 33-year-old model announced that she and Samuels were expecting their second child together just over a year later [on May 4, 2021].
However, the news was quickly followed by confirmation that Mena had filed for divorce from the rapper in Georgia’s Fayette County Superior Court on May 21.
Mena declared in court documents acquired by Page Six that her marriage to Samuel was “irretrievably ruined” and that there was “no possibility of reconciliation.”
She is said to have requested shared legal custody and final decision-making authority, as well as temporary and permanent physical custody of their first child, “with the parties having parenting time as determined in the minor children’s best interests.”
According to TMZ, Mena has also requested that Samuels pay her legal bills, child support, and the sole use of their Georgia house.
Raul Conde, her former partner, had a son with her.
Mena’s first lover, rapper Raul Conde, ended up being the father of her first child. On March 1, 2007, she gave birth to their son King Conde at the age of eighteen.
Conde, on the other hand, proved to be a poor influence as both a partner and a father. As a result, she ended her relationship with him and decided to raise the child on her own.
She was protective of her kid and kept him away from her baby father, based on her own experience of how a bad father’s presence impacts a child.
Mena and Conde were even involved in a brawl outside of My Studio in 2011, in which Mena struck a Terror Squad member. However, the couple is said to have made apologies in 2014 for the sake of their son and have been on excellent terms since then.
Her Relationship History
Mena has had relationships with a couple more guys in addition to Samuels and Conde. Shad Gregory Moss aka Bow Wow, an American rapper, was one of her partnerships.
In early 2014, Mena was a guest host on 106 & Park, and the two began dating. They were spotted together for the next few months but did little to prove that they were completely official.
When an interviewer asked if she was dating the rapper on the red carpet at the 2014 BET Hip-Hop Awards in the autumn, Mena confirmed her engagement instead.
Bow Wow has posted images of Mena in a bridal gown on the internet by March 2015. However, she suffered a devastating miscarriage in September 2015.
Following that, in late 2015, the two decided to part ways.
Mena then found love with Cliff Dixon, the adopted brother of NBA star Kevin Durant. They began dating in the spring of 2018. They broke up four months later on poor terms.
Dixon tragically died in March 2019 after being shot in Atlanta. When a gunman opened fire in front of the club, he was celebrating his birthday.
Mena then dated music executive Rich Dollaz for a short time, but their relationship didn’t last long.
Openly Bi
In 2015, the best-selling author came out as bisexual.
Mena revealed her sexual orientation during an interview with Rolling Out magazine in January of that year, clarifying that she wasn’t a lesbian because she was drawn to all genders.
“Everyone I’ve dated has been misunderstood by others. It was like, “Oh, all of a sudden, she’s queer,” last year. I’ve been [bi] for a while now “she explained. “I’ve always been really open and affectionate toward women. It’s not a well-kept secret.”
In terms of dating women, Atlanta Black Star reports that Mena dated her Love & Hip Hop: New York co-star Cyn Santana in 2014.
Her Beginnings
Mena was born on November 8, 1987, in the Bronx, New York, to parents and an older sister. Her parents are of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent.
Her father was a drug dealer who made life difficult for her family. Her mother was imprisoned as a result of her father’s insistence that she sell narcotics. Erica was born to her when she was incarcerated.
Until her mother was released from prison, she was also abused by her father. Mena was already five years old at the time.
In the absence of her mother and father, her elder sister was in charge of the household. The model, on the other hand, was unable to overcome her inner traumas, which had a significant impact on her conduct.
