Delonte Maurice West aka Delonte West is a former American professional basketball player. West played in the National Basketball Player Association (NBA) for the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Seattle SuperSonics, and Dallas Mavericks. Delonte was selected as the 24^th pick in the 2004 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics. In his first season with the Celtics, he ended playing just 39 games, mostly coming off the bench due to injuries. Further, he averaged 4.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. West was named to represent the Celitics on the sophomore team for the Rookie Challenge at NBA All-Star Weekend on 12^th Feb 2006. On 28^th June 2007, Celitics traded Delonte to Seattle SuperSonics. Further, the next year on February 21, 2008, he was again traded to Cleveland  Cavaliers. Here west played in 26 regular-season games and averaged 4.5 assists, 10.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.1 steals. Delton averaged 8.8 points in 25 minutes per game with only three games as a starter for the caves over the 2009-10 season.

In 2010, the Cavaliers traded west to Minnesota Timberwolves but he didn’t last there for a longer time. Finally, on September 1, 2010, he signed one year contract with Boston Celitics. Moreover, Celtics suspended West for the first 10 games of the 2010-11 season following a guilty plea to weapons charges in Maryland. On December 13, 2011, West signed with the Dallas Mavericks. Again he re-signed from the Mavericks on 26^th July 2012. In fact, Mavericks suspended Delonte indefinitely following an argument after a preseason loss on 15^th October 2012. Dallas reinstated him after one day but again suspended him on 25^th October for the same reason after another preseason loss.

Later Career

Later, Delonte was acquired by the Texas Legends of the NBA D-League on January 25, 2013. He made his debut for the Legend on 16^th March 2013 with 10 points in an 85-103 loss to the Santa Cruz Warriors. West’s career became pretty unstable this time. The same in October 2013, West signed a one-year contract with Fujian Xunxing of China. Further, Delonte joined the Los Angeles Clippers for the 2014 NBA Summer League in July of 2014.

West signed one year deal with the Shanghai Sharks in September of 2014 returning to china for a second stint. Similarly, he signed with Guaros de Lara of the Venezuelan Liga Profesional de Baloncesto on 12^th Jan 2015. But he left the team before playing in a game for them. On 12^th March 2015, Delonte was acquired by the Texas Legends. Delonte was waived by the Legends on April 2, 2015, after suffering a season-ending injury.
