Rigsby, who was raised by his mother Cindy alone, never had the courage to come out to her. The mother and boy also had severe financial difficulties, which led to their approximately three-year period of homelessness.
They alternated between living in motels and staying at friends’ and family members’ homes during that difficult time.
The personal trainer has also harbored resentment toward his mother in the past since he felt that she was a terrible mom and made a lot of mistakes.
But he later claimed that after going to counseling, he was able to control his rage and even told her about his orientation. I was truly able to confront all of those difficult emotions, let them go, and transition into a more loving connection with my mother, he continued.
Currently, Rigsby purchased an apartment for his diabetic mother five blocks from his home and provides for her financially. He has also realized that, despite his youthful need for more, she gave it her best effort.
