Amanda Balionis was born on June 20, 1987, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but moved to Lancaster when she was ten years old.
Amanda was raised in sports, namely golf, and began playing volleyball in high school. She graduated from Manheim Township High School in 2004 and Hofstra University in 2008 with a degree in broadcast journalism.
The 33-year-old anchor comes from a family of golf enthusiasts. On the golf course, her grandparents also met. Amanda played golf for a few years before joining the swim team, and her parents enjoyed playing with her.

In 2016, Amanda received a heartbreaking phone call informing her that her parents had been hit by another vehicle and were being rushed to the hospital. They were admitted to the intensive care unit.
She only disclosed the news a year after the disaster, in March 2017, when she posted an emotional caption on Instagram about nearly losing her parents.
Amanda is strangely close to her parents, and she confessed that the phone call was the most terrifying she has ever received. Amanda learned another lesson of life flashing back only at the prospect of losing the two people she loved the most, despite having learned every critical lesson from her mother and father.
Thankfully, her parents were spared a more serious scenario and were able to recuperate gradually. Despite her busy schedule, Amanda never misses an opportunity to spend time with her parents and frequently posts about it on social media.

However, in February 2015, Amanda shared a photo on Instagram with a ring on her ring finger, sparking suspicions that she was engaged, but she quickly clarified that she was not.
