After two divorces, why did Paula White claim she never had a husband?
Evangelical Pastor Paula White Cain, the first female clergy member to offer the invocation at the presidential inauguration in 2017, claimed to have only discovered a “genuine” husband in her third marriage.
Paula and Jonathan Cain, her third and present husband, have been together for a long time and appear to be getting along swimmingly.
How did Paula White meet her husband Jonathan Cain for the first time?
Paula White Cain and Jonathan Cain, an American singer, initially met in July 2010 on the same Southwest Airlines flight en route to San Antonio, Texas.
She carried her book into the plane and dropped it right in front of Jonathan as she walked. During the three-hour flight, this tiny incident generated a dialogue between the two, which led to their learning more about each other’s life. They talked about their lives, and Paula even prayed for Cain, who was at the time a “displaced Catholic.”
Their attraction became stronger with each passing day, and despite their 16-year age gap, they began dating.
When did Jonathan Cain start dating Paula White?
Paula married Jonathan approximately four years after their initial meeting.
Jonathan revealed in an interview with Life Today TV in October 2019 that he and Paula had married three times. Paula said, “They were married three times: once for the Father, once for the Son, and finally for the Holy Spirit.”
During their journey to Ghana in December 2014, they married in a civil ceremony. Paula and Jonathan exchanged vows for the first time in a low-key ceremony administered by one of White’s Pentecostal mentors.
Then, in April 2015, they married in front of a large crowd at an Orlando hotel for the second time. For the third marriage that they stated in the interview, there are no further details available.
Jonathan Cain, according to Paula White Cain, is the true husband she never had.
Paula also disclosed shocking details about how she felt about her present and previous marriages during her interview with Life Today TV.
White admitted that she had previously been married, but that she never felt as though she had a husband.
She must have meant it emotionally because she had been married before marrying Jonathan. This allegation alluded to her feelings toward her ex-husbands as well as the reality that her prior marriages had been brutal. She also shares her sentiments about how she feels about Jonathan, which she didn’t have in her previous two marriages.
Paula’s first marriage was short-lived, lasting only four years.
It’s possible that she didn’t have a husband before marrying Jonathan Cain because of how her ex-husbands handled her and her past experiences.
She was a victim of sexual assault since she was a child, and she became a born-again Christian in 1984 at the age of 18, as she had stated several times.
She became pregnant with her first son, Dean Knight, a local musician in Maryland, in February 1985. She married him soon after and gave birth to Bradley Knight, her sole biological son, in November 1985.
Their marriage, however, took a turn for the worst when she discovered that her kid was being abused, which may have contributed to his drug addiction. Because of the troubles in the household, she divorced Dean in 1989.
Her second marriage was a traumatic experience for her.
At a church, Paula met Randy White, the pastor of the Damascus Church of God in Maryland. Randy’s first marriage, to Debra Ellis, terminated in 1989 as well. Paula became a stepmother to Randy’s three children after the couple married in 1990.
Their marriage lasted a little over a decade since, by 2003, both of them had started going to marital counseling. Paula said Randy had put her in a terrible situation in another appearance with Life Today TV.
Randy proposed to her on one of their anniversaries with an ultimatum that she refused to accept. He also threatened her with losing everything if she did not accept the ultimatum: her family, ministry, wealth, and everything else.
Following this, Paula and Randy announced their second divorce, this time in August of 2007.
In 2010, Paula White was again accused of having an affair.
When reports of Paula’s alleged affair with Evangelist Benny Hinn began to circulate, she was thrust back into the spotlight. This was just before she met Jonathan Cain, her “true” spouse.
In July 2010, Paula was photographed holding hands with Benny Hinn on the streets of Rome. They apparently stayed in the same hotel room, according to reports.
Following the story’s publication, Paula and Benny both confirmed that they were only friends.
