George Young is the fifth of William and Margaret Young’s five children. On November 6, 1946, he joined the Young family at 6 Skerryvore Road in Glasgow’s Cranhill neighborhood. Stephen Young, Margaret Horsburgh, William Young Jr., and Alex Young were his four older siblings. Angus Young, Malcolm Young, and John Young were all older brothers, as was George Young. George Young’s six brothers have all worked in the music industry, and his sister was the one who encouraged them to do so.

George Young, Malcolm Young’s younger brother, went to Chester Hill High School for his secondary education. His high school, however, expelled him in 1964 due to his long hair. It’s unknown whether Young enrolled in another high school after being expelled from his previous one. However, it was advantageous for him because he was able to devote all of his attention to his musical career and establish himself as one of the greatest musical performers of all time.
When George was a teenager, his family relocated to Australia.
Angus Young’s sibling, George Young, and other family members were born in Scotland, but when he was seventeen, they moved to Australia and became Australian citizens. They were forced to relocate to Australia in late June 1963 due to the Big Freeze of 1962-63

George and Harry formed Flash and the Pan, a new wave musical combo, in mid-1976, with Young playing guitar, keyboards, and vocals and Vanda playing guitar and keyboards. Hey, St. Peter and Down Among the Dead Men were released. In the late 1970s, those tracks charted in the top ten of the Kent Music Report Singles Chart.
His Brothers’ Band’s Producer And Mentor
George Young was a producer and mentor for his brothers George and Malcolm Young’s world-famous band, AC/DC, in addition to founding his own pop bands. He used his studio and writing skills to assist AC/DC attain international popularity and success. Young’s younger brothers benefited from his years of expertise in the music industry, which they attentively listened to and adapted to their own band.
Aside from being AC/steady DC’s mentor, George Young also played bass on the band’s first album, High Voltage. George Young, Ellen Young’s brother-in-law, died on October 22, 2017, in Singapore, a few weeks before his brother, Malcolm Young. Many singers expressed their heartfelt condolences to George’s family and offered their beautiful thoughts about him on social media. His wife Sandra Ramsey and daughter Yvette Young survive him.
