In 2005, Zander’s father, Billy, was charged with domestic abuse, and Zayne and his brother were placed in foster care. The boys had been through a lot at such a young age, and after months and months of court battles, they were eventually granted the loving homes they deserved: Zayne was sent to live with his cousins, while Zander was sent to live with his father.

It’s unclear when and how Zayne’s parents first met. Mindy McCready was a talented country music singer whose debut album, ‘Ten Thousand Angels,’ debuted at number five on the US charts and went on to sell millions of copies throughout the world. David, a music fanatic, was a member of the Boom! Kinetic band, where he played the horn.

‘In 2008, he created a MySpace account for “Dave Wilson Productions,” which he self-described as “a young, innovative music production company based in Nashville” specializing in all genres of music and even offering supplemental services such as web production and photography,’ according to Yahoo Entertainment. The couple is thought to have met through the music-producing profession.

Mindy, Zayne’s mother, was head over heels in love with David and had planned to marry him before he committed suicide. Mindy apparently took her own life in the same way and place as David, unable to cope with her sadness over losing the love of her life, as well as the issues surrounding her children’s custody due to her substance misuse. Zayne was only 10 months old at the time of her death.
