Bobby Bones’ mother raised him and his sister with the help of their maternal grandmother, Hazel Hurt, after their father abandoned the family. His mother began to drink and use drugs, leaving the children with their grandmother for days, weeks, or even years. As a result, Hazel Hurt, Bobby Bones’ grandmother, formally adopted Bobby and his sister, Amanda, and co-parented them with their mother when she was still alive.

Furthermore, according to Bones, his father resided within five miles of him for the majority of his life. He went on to say that he had never met him, had never seen him, and had never spoken to him as a child. As a result, there isn’t a lot of information on Bobby Bones’ father on the internet.

In 2011, Bones’ mother passed away.

As previously stated, Bobby Bones’ mother, Pam Hurt, was away from her children for the majority of her life while her mother, Hazel, took care of them. She moved away from Bobby when he flourished in his career and earned success. She died on October 21, 2011, as a result of her drinking and drug addiction.

He wasn’t by her side when Bones’ mother, Pam, took her last breath. Bobby Bones’ sister, Amanda, called him at 7:45 a.m. the same morning to inform him of her death. That day, Bones finished his act in Austin, Texas, and went to his mother’s burial. He was back on the air the next day.

Bobby Bones did everything he could to help his mother overcome her heroin addiction. He thought buying his mother a trailer and an acre and a half of land would solve her problems. He reasoned that if his mother had that, she wouldn’t have to worry about anything else. Bones’ fame and fortune, however, were not enough to save his mother. Instead of spending the money Bones handed her on necessities, she spent it on drugs and drink.

Bones only discovered later that his financial assistance to his mother had only served to enable her to purchase the highly addictive medicines. His mother began pleading with him for more money. So Bones decided to pay her bills on his own and did everything he could to keep her in a recovery facility. However, he was unable to do so before her death. Bobby remembers his mother with fondness and remorse for not being able to persuade her to get treatment sooner before she died.

His Grandma Assisted Him In Achieving His Goal

Because Bobby Bones’ parents were not present to witness his development for the majority of his life, his grandmother, Hazel, acted as both his mother and father. In the family, she was a performer who carried a guitar to church, led singing, told stories, and affected her audience. Bones claims that his grandmother could make anyone laugh with her loud hearty laugh. Everyone admired and was drawn to his grandmother.

As a result, Bobby Bones understood from a young age that he aspired to be like his grandmother. And for him, that meant a career as a television and radio personality as well as a stand-up comedian. Thus, at the age of seventeen, he began his radio career at his college’s radio station, ‘KSWH-FM.’ And, as you are all aware, he has established himself as one of the top radio hosts throughout the years.

Hazel Hurt, Bobby Bones’ grandmother, passed away when he was a youngster. Nonetheless, he concedes that she did the best she could, despite his mother’s lack of assistance. No one would have been happier than his grandma if she had lived to see his accomplishments. We hope she is content and that she is rewarding her grandson with continued success from above.
