Vera Wang’s biggest breakthrough came considerably later in her career. She served as an editor at Vogue for 17 years before losing the editor-in-chief position to Anna Wintour. She went on to work for Ralph Lauren as an accessory designer.

Then, as she approached her 40th birthday, she married Arthur Becker, a computer executive. Wang believed she would never be able to settle down, but after hearing some wise words from her coworkers, she changed her perspective.
Her father saw it as a business opportunity because she couldn’t find a wedding dress she liked, but Wang was unsure.
She believed it was too late to start a business at her age, but her father persisted in pushing her and eventually provided her with the finances she needed to build her first flagship store in New York City’s Carlyle Hotel in 1990.
Her name is now synonymous with a global fashion, cosmetics, jewelry, eyewear, fragrance, and homewares empire. She employs over 200 employees and has license agreements with Zales, Kohl’s, and David’s Bridal.
Despite her hectic schedule, the wedding fashion mogul always made time for her girls. During their time together, Wang and her ex-husband, Becker, adopted two daughters. Back in 2012, the couple had “mutually and amicably agreed to separate” after twenty-three years of marriage.
They did, however, keep a close relationship and raised their children together.

When Wang was 41, she adopted Cecilia Becker and Josephine Becker, whom she affectionately referred to as “Cesi” and “Jo.”
Despite Wang’s multiple homes in Paris and California, they were reared in New York City. Many people expected Cecilia and Josephine to be dressed in fashionable clothes because they were the daughters of a wealthy and well-known designer, but this was not the case.
Wang, who was known for being anti-glamorous, dressed her children in ordinary adolescent clothing from stores like Abercrombie and Fitch. But it didn’t stop Wang from keeping things stylish for her daughters.
She went out of her way to find wonderful stuff for her girls in regular teen boutiques.
Her children, meantime, make full use of their mother’s abilities. Cecilia said in a 2010 interview with Teen Vogue that she, like any other adolescent, enjoyed online shopping. Her mother, on the other hand, provided her with fashion guidance.
And, thanks to her mother, she could tell right immediately whether an outfit was good or poor. She also mentioned that her mother was both open and opinionated. That was nearly a decade ago.
She is now an adult, and according to her LinkedIn profile, she is employed as an Operations Administrator at CapSo Inc. There isn’t much known about Wang’s second kid, but Wang did share a snapshot of her a week ago to celebrate her 28th birthday.
