Mira Sorvino’s Children Remind Her of Classic Times and Characters

Mira Sorvino’s Children Remind Her of Classic Times and Characters

The COVID-19 epidemic and lockdown in 2020 were like a looming dark cloud. Many people, on the other hand, found comfort in the arms of their loved ones and families.

Mira Sorvino was in the same boat.

With films like Mighty Aphrodite, Norma Jean & Marilyn, Mimic, Lulu on the Bridge, and The Replacement Killers, the Oscar-winning actress dominated the film business in the late 1990s.

Her passion for movies runs deep, so it’s no surprise that she spent the lockdown making vintage movie posters with her kids.

Quarantine, Mira Sorvino, and Her Children

Mattea Angel Backus, Lucia Backus, Johnny Christopher King Backus, and Holden Paul Terry Backus are the four children of Sorvino and her husband, Christopher Backus.

Sorvino and Christopher both work in the entertainment sector, which has had an impact on their children.

While the children have not yet begun acting, they are interested in the profession.

In an interview with W Magazine, the actress discussed how she and her children spent time in quarantine. Sorvino’s children, like most kids, had online classes and were unable to see their peers.

They were “very bored and miserable” as a result of it. At night, the Sorvino-Backus family would watch old movies, which gave the actress an idea.

She had previously worked with Ryan Murphy on his show Hollywood, in which they recreated Hollywood in the 1940s. She wanted to do the same with her kids, so she asked them if they’d like to recreate some legendary photographs.

Because they were so engaged, it was “not difficult to persuade them at all.” They then went to work.

Sorvino and Christopher chose the outfits and items, as well as took photos of them. Sorvino applied her hair and makeup because their older daughter, Mattea, reproduced Audrey Hepburn’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s poster.

Creamsicle and Hufflepuff, their rescue kittens, were also included in the images. After everything was finished, Johnny used an app to put the posters together.

He combined the photographs with the actual posters to create the final product.

Family of Mira Sorvino

In the late 1990s, Sorvino collaborated with filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.

He was her date to the Academy Awards, where she was honored for her performance in Mighty Aphrodite and won Best Supporting Actress.

In 1998, the couple announced it quits. The actress met Christopher five years later, in August 2003, at a charades party held by a friend. A month after they met, they were engaged.

They married on June 11, 2004, in a private civil ceremony at the Santa Barbara courthouse, and then had a hilltop wedding in Capri, Italy, a year later.

In November 2004, Sorvino gave birth to a daughter. They didn’t announce her name at the time, but it was eventually revealed to be Mattea.

In May 2006, they had a baby boy (Johnny) in Beverly Hills’ Cedars-Sinai Hospital. The couple was then blessed with another son on June 22, 2009.

Holden and his brother were both born in the same hospital. Paul and Terry, his middle names, are named after Sorvino and Christopher, respectively. Sorvino revealed in an interview with People that her third pregnancy was more difficult than her first two.

Despite the fact that there were life-threatening challenges and difficulties, Holden was born a healthy child. Lucia, the couple’s fourth child, was born three years later, on May 3, 2012.
