Despite being married to Steve Martin, one of the world’s most famous comedians and actors, Anne Stringfield remained a mysterious figure.
The 46-year-old was an editor and fact-checker for The New Yorker Magazine before becoming famous as Steve Martin’s wife. She then created a reputation for herself as a freelance writer, reviewing art and off-Broadway shows for publications such as Vogue.
We’ve prepared a collection of fascinating wikis that shed light on Anne and her connection with Martin, their wedding, their daughter, and her family.

Age Difference of 26 Years
In the mid-2000s, Anne Stringfield met Steve. They became friends because they had a passion for art: Anne used to write reviews for Vogue, and Steve was a well-known art collector and trustee of the Los Angeles Museum of Art.
The duo’s fascination with art has been fueled by Steve’s $130 million net fortune.

Her position at the New Yorker facilitated their meeting after she was assigned to proof one of Steve’s humor articles. Steve was captivated by her shyness when he first met her. He would later describe her as “violet by a mossy stone” when he first saw her, a reference to William Wordsworth.
Despite their 26-year age difference, their love became stronger over time.
In 2007, Anne and her husband surprised family members by announcing their wedding.
Anne had been seeing Steve for three years by 2007. The couple surprised their family and friends by announcing their intention to change their bio to “married for life.”
In July of that year, they threw a celebration at Steve’s L.A. house and declared themselves husband and wife in an outdoor wedding.
A-list celebs such as Tom Hanks, Eugene Levy, Ricky Jay, and Carl Reiner were among the guests at the surprise wedding. Lorne Michaels, the creator of Saturday Night Live, was the best man, while Anne’s sister was the chosen Bridesmaid.
The newlyweds decided to spend their honeymoon in the West Indies.
Has A Daughter At The Age Of 40
In December 2012, Anne and her husband, Steve, welcomed their first child, Mary. With the birth of their daughter at the age of 67, Steve became a father for the first time. He had no children from his first marriage to British actress Bernadette Peters.
In a 2013 interview with David Letterman, he admitted to having dread of turning out to be a bad parent and related his experience of raising a child of his age. He would then go on to say that they had planned to name their daughter Conquistador at first, but that they later changed their minds and named her Mary.
Anne has barely made a few public appearances since Mary’s birth.
