Being a celebrity has both benefits and drawbacks. While there are certain positives, such as financial progress and extensive exposure, there are also some drawbacks, such as razor-sharp comments and judgemental eyes.

If you’re a young influencer who came to stardom through social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, like Addison Rae, the criticism might be even harsher.

Rae went from TikTok to Hollywood with her lip-syncing and acting skills. He’s All That is a gender-swapped remake of the famous rom-com from the 1990s. Her first major film, She’s All That, was a success.

While she landed a major role as Padgett Sawyer, not everyone was delighted with her accomplishment, notably her critics who said she was cast only because of her notoriety.

The accusations, on the other hand, were completely false. Her He’s All That co-star Tanner Buchanan weighed in on the discussion, defending her casting.

On the Just for Variety podcast in August 2021, Buchanan, best known for his role as Robby Keene in the television series Cobra Kai, gushed over Rae’s casting.

Rae went through the casting procedure like any other actress, the gorgeous actor explained, adding that her popularity on TikTok had no bearing on her selection.

She sent her films to the casting office and even auditioned for the position, he recalled.

In his words, “everyone had to be okay with her performance,” and Rae did an excellent job dazzling everyone. “She put forth a lot of effort,” the 22-year-old continued.

After gushing about the casting process, Buchanan talked about his experience working with the social media celebrity.

Rae, according to Buchanan, knew all of her lines better than he did and was at the top of her game.

He also praised his co-star, adding that people would think Rae had been acting for years because of her professionalism.

Rae’s co-stars’ praise for her performance is well-deserved, given that the Louisiana native gave it her all for the picture.

Rae went to acting school and met with her acting coach for special zoom sessions weeks before filming began. She concentrated on getting into the mind of the role and concentrating on delivery and script study.

People had labeled the 20-year-old as a social media personality, and she knew that seeing her in that role would put them at ease. As a result, she regarded it as an opportunity to put her acting skills on display.
