Cindy Kimberly has been gaining popularity since Justin Bieber posted a photo of her on his Instagram five years ago.

As she juggled school and her £3-an-hour babysitting job in Spain, the rising Spanish model was a relatively obscure figure. However, an incident in December 2015 changed her life forever, and she has since amassed a massive fan base.

With her celebrity has come concerns about her race and ethnicity, which the model clearly finds funny.

She, on the other hand, takes it all in stride as she mingles with celebrities and travels the globe while remaining grounded beside her Spanish mother.

Justin Bieber, enamored by Kimberly’s beauty, released a photo of her on Instagram in December 2015 and requested his fans to help him find her.

To any fan, seeing their photo uploaded by one of the biggest stars on the planet would mean the world, but she had no idea that her world was about to change.

Various Spanish and American modeling agencies took notice of the girl when her name was released (she goes by the Instagram handle @woldiecindy).

She was signed by the Spanish modeling agency UNO Models in Barcelona and Madrid shortly after her discovery in 2016. She was sought after by many additional events, including the 2017 Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week in Madrid, after being signed by the agency and participating in a few catwalks that year.

What’s even more intriguing is that corporations rushed to sign her. She was signed by the famous cosmetics manufacturer TRESemmé to become the company’s face after appearing in a Madrid fashion show, at the age of barely 17. Her Instagram followers increased dramatically, and she now has over six million.

Misconceptions about Cindy Kimberly’s ethnicity arose as a result of her celebrity.

As if her amazing appearance wasn’t enough, her ethnicity has also sparked interest and even some misunderstandings. Some websites said her ethnicity was Asian, while others claimed she was Dutch, and yet others claimed she was of White heritage.

It turned out that not everything was false. Her claim to being Dutch was somewhat true, but she admitted that aside from being born in the Netherlands, she had nothing in common with the Dutch. As for her Asian background, she revealed on Twitter that she is half-Indonesian.

Kimberly was still in high school when Bieber shared that life-changing photo of hers, and she supported her mother financially by babysitting for £3 an hour in Costa Blanca, Spain.

According to the Daily Mail, Kimberly herself revealed this. In 2015, she even advertised her babysitting services to potential families on her online CV resume.

She put in her CV, “Cindy Kimberly is my given name, and I am sixteen years old. I can shop and assist with schoolwork. Please contact me if you are seeking a babysitter and would like to learn more about me. I adore kids and can assist them with English because I am fluent in the language.”

Ironically, it was the same photo she used to promote her babysitting services that drew Justin Bieber’s attention.

She’s made a reputation for herself after five years and various modeling jobs and sponsorships.

She made news last year when she was photographed with British racer Lewis Hamilton as he disembarked from his private plane at Barcelona’s El Prat airport. As they departed the airport, the Spanish model was photographed grasping Hamilton’s hands and peering into his eyes.

However, the model, who is also a painter, quickly debunked the claims, claiming that they were only friends. She claims to spend the majority of her time with her mother and cat. “All friendships are open to love,” she continued cheekily.

Despite her current lifestyle of private jets and traversing the world with prominent celebrities, she is incredibly grounded—a characteristic that her mother undoubtedly helped develop in her.

She never misses an opportunity to offer a particular tribute to her mother. She evidently thinks her mother so adorable that she wants to protect her by putting her in her pocket.

Her father, on the other hand, is never acknowledged save to say that she derives her part Indo heritage from him, hinting at their parents’ divorce.
