Billy Porter is a truly multi-talented individual.

He is a well-known actor who has been in shows such as American Horror Story: Apocalypse, Pose, The Humbling, and Like a Boss. Ghetto Superstar, Kinky Boots, HAM: A Musical Memoir, and White Rabbit Red Rabbit are some of his theater credits.

Porter was able to fully express himself with the series Pose. The TV show focused on the drag ball culture in New York City, which included African-American and Latino LGBTQ and gender-nonconforming people. In May 2021, the trailblazing series came to an end with its third season.

Porter earned his first ‘Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for the series, making him the first gay black male to win an Emmy in the lead acting category.

Porter maintains a good attitude toward the series, regardless of how it ends. Even though it was bittersweet, he said that they were the first to develop such a show, breaking the industry’s barrier.

Future Projects of Porter

Despite the fact that Pose was one of Porter’s most significant endeavors, he has a number of other projects in the works.

Cinderella (2021), Smoke, Lilies and Jade, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder (2022), and Little Shop of Horrors are among Porter’s upcoming projects. Cinderella and Smoke, Lillies, and Jade were finished but never released, while The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is in post-production and Little Shop of Horrors is in pre-production.

In the next Cinderella remake, the actor plays a genderless and non-confirming fairy godparent.

Porter will voice Randall in the Disney Plus animated series The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, with Zachary Quinto, who will play his partner, Barry Leibowitz Jenkins. In the big-screen rendition of Little Shop of Horrors, Porter will play Audrey II, the man-eating and talking plant.

In addition to Pose, the actor is working on many scripts, a children’s book, and a memoir.
