A CT scan of Pete’s body in 2016 revealed swollen lymph nodes in various places of his body. On February 6, 2017, he began chemotherapy for the third time to treat his cancer. With his fans, he chronicled his chemotherapy and treatment process.

Pete had to go through a lot of chemotherapy to get rid of his cancer. During one of his follow-up visits, a test revealed a malignant growth on his right testicles. Pete’s cancer had returned for the fourth time, and he was furious. The doctor recommended that he have his second testicle removed so that he could be cancer-free. He underwent surgery to remove his right testicle on January 17, 2019. He also thanked everyone for their well-wishes during his trying moments in an Instagram post.
