However, Jack drowned and hit his head three miles from his house in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, on July 5, 1984, when he was just 34 years old. His daughter and second wife Barbara both survived him. Additionally, he had two kids from his first union with Pat, his high school sweetheart.

On July 23, this year, Loretta remembered her son by posting a photo of him on Facebook and writing that she had never been the same after his passing.

The Other Children of Loretta Lynn Pursued Musical Careers

Like her mother, Tracy Lee, who wrote songs under the pen name Loretta, Betty is a talented singer. She has written songs including “Wine, Women and Song,” “Before I’m Over You,” and “The Home You’re Tearin’ Down,” among others. Sadly, Betty passed away in July 2013 at the age of 64.
