What is Gina Neely up to these days? A Day in the Life of a Food Network Star

Gina Neely rose to fame as the co-host of the reality TV show Down Home with the Neelys, which she cohosted with her then-husband Pat Neely from 2008 to 2014.

Although the show went on to become the Food Network’s highest-rated show, a lot has transpired since fans last saw the reality star offering classic Southern cuisine.

Real-Life vs. Filmed Life

Gina and Pat did not have the happy married life that everyone thought they had when the cameras were not running, despite appearing to be the perfect pair on their show.

After eleven seasons on the popular cooking show, Gina startled everyone by announcing her divorce. Their 23 years as a married couple came to an end in an instant.

Behind the scenes, though, this decision had been a long time coming. Gina acknowledged in an interview with People,

She went on to say that Pat had turned into a business partner with whom she was no longer interested, despite the fact that she needed a husband at the time

The concept of the fan-favorite show was no longer applicable once the divorce was made public, and Gina appeared to have lost her claim to fame. Didn’t she?

She had no desire for fame.

For starters, Gina didn’t really want to be famous on television.

She stated that she did not want to be on TV in an interview with the Say It Southern podcast, but she also recognized that it would be a once-in-a-lifetime chance for her husband and their family’s chain restaurant company.

It wasn’t only her who was doing it. Spenser, Gina’s elder daughter from a previous marriage, and Shelbi, Gina’s younger daughter with Pat, both “hated” the show and the attention it drew.

Gina’s Life After Divorce

Regardless, Gina took control of her life following the divorce and virtually completely remade herself, beginning with her body.

Thanks to her improved lifestyle choices, the reality personality lost 35 pounds and went from a size 8 to a size 0 in just over 12 weeks in 2015.

She did go on to regain some of the weight she had lost in order to avoid looking like a “bobblehead.” Her fitness streak, it appears, was a means for her to cope with the remaining feelings after her divorce.

What is Gina Neely up to these days?

Despite her misgivings about her TV celebrity, she didn’t stay away from it for long. She became the producer of her food show, Chop it up with Gina Neely on Aspire TV, three years after the divorce.

Food Network, according to Gina, had a lot of control over the show’s design and feel.

As a result, the show was not completely honest and did not portray her true self on film.

So she made sure that all of the roadblocks were removed, and the viewers were allowed to see the genuine Gina Neely.

Gina set off to pursue new love in Italy the same year that her program was up and running. Gina traversed the streets of Rome in Diann Valentine’s program To Rome for Love.

She has also started to People that she is open to the notion of remarrying, however, the question of Who is Gina Neely married to currently remains unanswered.

The reality star is now keeping herself occupied with motivational seminars on her social media channels as of this writing.
