Daniel Anthony ‘Danny’ Noriega’s drag persona, Adore Delano, rocketed to recognition as a result of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She made headlines when she became the first contender to drop out of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’ second season.

The drag competition, however, wasn’t Delano’s first broadcast appearance; she had previously appeared on American Idol.

Before she appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race, I adored Delano.

In 2007, Delano made her television debut as a contestant on American Idol’s sixth season. At the time, she went by her own name, Danny Noriega.

The television personality failed to go through Hollywood Rounds on her first attempt. She auditioned for the seventh season of the program and was chosen after performing “Proud Mary” by Creedence Clearwater Revival.

After performing in ‘Tainted,’ she made it to the top 16 before being eliminated. Despite being disqualified, the drag performer made news when she said to Simon Cowell, “Some people weren’t liking it.”

Rosie O’Donnell, the comedian, was so taken with her sarcastic remark that she invited her to the R Family Vacations cruise. She took advantage of the opportunity to channel her Adore Delano persona, which she had been honing since she was a teenager.

Thankfully, her mother and family members accepted her coming out at the age of 12 and encouraged her to embrace her true self. As a result, starting at the age of 18, the 31-year-old frequented West Hollywood nightclubs and drew inspiration from drag queens.

She began performing drag professionally at Micky’s in West Hollywood when she was 21 years old. She joined the cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 6 three years later.

Delano voluntarily exited the Drag Competition.

Delano made her drag racing debut on RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2014. She made it to the top three after battling her way through the obstacles. She came in second place, losing to Bianca Del Rio.

The Azusa native launched her musical career the same year, releasing her debut album Till Death Do Us Party on June 3, 2014. On March 11, 2016, she released her second album, After Party.

Delano joined the cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars season two in August 2016. She did, however, elect herself out of the program in an unprecedented manner, securing 9th place amid widespread criticism.

In the finals, the ‘I Adore You’ singer expressed guilt for her decision and told RuPaul about it. She even hinted at appearing in a future season. She never made a reappearance, despite almost appearing in season 6 of the show.

Adore Delano is currently working on a new album.

Delano has shifted her focus away from drag competitions and into her musical career and business ventures.

On August 21, 2017, she released her third album, Whatever.

Then, on June 26, 2021, she teased her new EP Dirty Laundry on Instagram. She launched a new project with a sneak peek from the album’s song ‘Rolling Stoner.’

On June 24, 2021, the drag queen performed on a song from the album at the Savage X Pride event.

Delano has aspired to be a musician since she was a child.

Her love of music blossomed as a result of her late estranged father. His interest in classic rock from the 1960s and 1970s inspired her greatly, and songs by Britney Spears, the Spice Girls, and Marilyn Manson enhanced her musical senses.

She now manages national tours and shows using her musical ability. Delano focuses on her exclusive goods, which include customized gear and signed prints, while she is not singing.
