2019 saw the TV presenter discuss his anxiety disorder and the ways he dealt with his worries, fears, and panic attacks. He found that one remedy that worked best for him was anti-anxiety medication.

However, one of his medication-related side effects was weight gain.

In April 2019, he said on Twitter with the hashtag #AnxietySociety, “Fun fact: I assumed recent weight gain was a side effect from an anti-anxiety medicine I started.”

He also disclosed that the therapy had improved his mood and enhanced his appetite in addition to making him calmer and happier. Currently, the tweet has been removed.

Daly further clarified his understanding in an April 2019 interview with Today. He found out that the weight increase was not a side effect of his therapy after discussing it with his doctor.

The doctor speculated that the patient’s weight gain may have simply been an unintended consequence of his “extremely joyful, being genuinely happy” state. Additionally, the fact that he was less agitated and anxious demonstrated that the drug was successful.

The Voice host completely concurred with his physician. He said he had come to the realization that he had acquired a completely new feeling of happiness and a new perspective on life.

He added that he could live his life to the fullest because he didn’t have to worry excessively about managing every aspect of it.

The father of four is now working with Project Healthy Minds to help others who are struggling with mental illness.

He described it as a wonderful non-profit with a broad group of people working together to help eradicate the stigma associated with mental illness and give people access to treatment through technology in a March 2021 interview with People.

Daly went on to say that anyone could quickly find a 7-Eleven by using their phone and placing a Slurpee order.

The techniques must be applied consistently to help people find mental health treatment. The technology is currently being developed by the group.

The native Californian is aware that by sharing his personal story, he will be able to help others.

He claims that it disturbs him that someone can feel less than average if they have a mental health-related aspect of themselves that they’re unsure of.
