In an episode of Heavy with Lakers airing in July 2020, the renowned rapper expressed his desire to own an NFL team in his hometown of New Orleans.
Silkk is an ardent supporter of the American football team, and he frequently uses social media to show his support for The Saints. Even when the team is performing poorly, the rapper displays sportsmanship and encourages them to improve.
In one such instance, on January 15, 2018, after The Saints’ loss to The Vikings, he wrote, “To say I’m ill is an understatement. Man! However, I adore my Saints, but we must improve. Great year nonetheless. Back to work I go.”
Nonetheless, the current owner of the football club is Gayle Benson, who purchased it in 1985. As of September 2020, Forbes estimates that the New Orleans Saints are worth $2.47 billion, which includes $1674 million in sports value, $322 million in market value, $362 million in stadium value, and $117million in brand value.
In addition, the team’s total value has increased by 9 percent compared to the previous year.
Pursuit of Billions
Considering the rising value of the football club, if the rapper’s dreams come true, he will become a billionaire in the future. He is definitely pursuing his dream, as he frequently captions his photographs with the phrase “Chasing Billions.”
Silkk shared a photo of himself and wrote about how he believed becoming a millionaire was impossible, but he did it anyway. Now, he is pursuing a billion dollars through hard labor and determination.
His exact words were, “When I had nothing, I not only wanted to be affluent, but I also wanted to work and never settle or be satisfied, so when I said, ‘I want to pursue millions,’ because where I came from, a million dollars was out of reach! So I reasoned. In any case, I was now Pursuing Billions. Cause a Billion seem unreachable. But in reality, it’s not about the money, but rather the effort required. Never quit! Chasingbillions.”
Silkk the Shocker’s Assets
As of 2020, the rapper-cum-actor’s estimated net worth is approximately $2 million due to his successful songs, music albums, and acting career in TV series and movies.
Silkk entered the hip-hop industry with the 1996 publication of his debut album The Shocker. After that, he released several successful albums in collaboration with Master P (his sibling), Trina, Mystikal, and many others.
The song ‘It Ain’t My Fault’ he recorded with Mystikal became his signature track. Another song, ‘Somebody Like Me,’ was one of the best-selling singles on the Billboard listings in 1999.
