Sara Rue was able to lose weight and no longer felt insecure.

Important Note: This essay is not intended to condemn overweight people or to imply any bad statements or connotations associated with being overweight. Both the author and Hollywood mask respect and understand the Body Positivity and Body Neutrality movements in the sense that we should treat one other with kindness and work together to envisage a world where we may channel our inherent beauty and potentialities.

Sara Rue is no stranger to the spotlight, having worked as a professional performer since she was nine years old. Despite her ease in front of the camera, the actress and producer have stated that she was always self-conscious about her body dimensions in the past.

All of that changed when she enrolled in a Jenny Craig weight-loss program and lost the majority of her body fat. She is now a weight-loss champion who encourages obese women to take action to transform their life for the better.

Sara Rue Overcame Mental Challenges To Lose 30 Pounds In Just 12 Weeks

Rue joined Jenny Craig’s weight-loss program in 2009, and within 12 weeks of her induction, she had lost thirty pounds of body fat. Jenny Craig, America’s leading authority on weight loss, would subsequently hire the actress as a spokesman. Rude discussed her journey so far in an exclusive People article from mid-2010.

Rue admitted that adjusting her perspective was one of the most difficult challenges she had in her weight-loss quest.

She was ready to do more after she had conquered her own mental biases. Portion control, according to the actress, was the secret to her weight loss. She found the perfect balance that helped her not slip up because the regimen she was on was more of a lifestyle shift than a full-fledged diet.

For The First Time In Her Life, Rue Became Brave Enough To Wear A Bikini

Her confidence was much improved as a result of her remarkable weight loss. She had gone from a size 16 to a size 6 and no longer felt anxious about her proportions. Not only that, but she was able to boldly wear a bikini for the first time in her life after a year and a half on the Jenny Craig program.

In 2011, the actress, who had spent much of her life avoiding the beach, was photographed in a bikini for a national marketing campaign. Rude did confess to People magazine that trying on a bikini for the first time was weird, but after she did, she thought to herself, “I look good.”

Rue also found the strength to run her first half-marathon.

The then-chubby red-haired actress had struggled for most of her life, and not just on a personal level. The actress had even lost a role as a result of their size, according to the same story. Rue had shed fifty pounds by August 2010, and she was frequently logging up to an hour of cardio 5-6 days a week, despite the fact that her sole exercise up to that point had been walking her dogs around the block.

Jenny Craig’s regiment improved her stamina as well, she told People. She reported that she had gone from one minute of jogging for every ten minutes of walking to running for two and a half hours straight and that she was training for her first half-marathon.

Obese and overweight women are being encouraged to take action by Sara Rue.

Rue has been inspiring other people battling with doubts to discover their own way to freedom now that she has achieved her ideal physique and reached the zenith of her fitness. She currently uses numerous programs to encourage obese and overweight women to take action.

Rue even turned to Twitter on December 10, 2015, to promote the #iResolveNowChat for women who are suffering from weight. Dr. Holly Wyatt hosted the program, which aimed to raise awareness about the medical consequences of obesity and encourage obese people to take immediate action.
