Meet the cast of ‘Heartland Docs, DVM’: Ben and Erin Schroeder, a husband and wife veterinary team.

Meet the Cast of ‘Heartland Docs, DVM’ – Ben and Erin Schroeder’s Husband and Wife Veterinary TeamHeartland Docs, DVM is a Nat Geo Wild show that follows Ben and Erin Schroeder’s travels as veterinarians.

Since its premiere on January 25, 2020, the show has been a hit.

It depicts the husband-and-wife team’s attempts to conserve animals in a rural community near Hartington, Nebraska. The major cast of the show is a married couple who is frequently accompanied by their children.

College Sweethearts Schroeder and Wife

While attending Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Schroeder met his wife Erin. They were head over heels in love with one other by the time they graduated.

Erin was especially smitten by the certified beef quality assurance trainer. From the beginning, she felt Schroeder was the one for her.

She was so excited to leave her hometown of upstate New York and start a new life with Schroeder in Hartington, Nebraska, where they would have to survive spring tornadoes, winter blizzards, and even scorching summer heatwaves.

After Schroeder returned to his hometown after college, the charming pair maintained a long-distance relationship. Erin and her family visited his homeland soon after, and the couple married.

Their family grew to include two sons. Charlie, who was born on June 3, 2003, and Chase, who was born on June 25, 2005, are now both teenagers.

How They Got Into the Cast of ‘Heartland Docs, DVM’

Schroeder was born into the veterinary field. He grew up assisting his father, retired veterinarian John Schroeder, in animal treatment.

After graduation, he joined the Cedar County Veterinary Services, a nonprofit founded by his father in 1970. He was usually engrossed in the family enterprise.

When he married Erin, everything changed for the better. She was familiar with the family company and decided that their lives would not be limited to veterinary medicine.

So, when the opportunity arose, the two went into real estate, refurbishing buildings including the town’s old hotel.

Their extraordinary abilities drew the attention of a local newspaper, which published a lengthy article on them. Soon after, the couple received phone calls from TV producers asking them to do a remodeling show.

They couldn’t accept the bargain because they were full-time veterinarians. Glass Entertainment approached them afterward and shot a pilot episode of what they performed on a daily basis, which was treating injured animals. The rest, as they say, is history.

‘Heartland Docs, DVM’ is a huge success.
