Laviscount Lucien will be back for Emily in Paris Season 3

In the Netflix romantic comedy series Alfie, Lucien Laviscount played Alfie, Emily Cooper’s season 2 love interest.

For another season of Emily in Paris, Lucien Laviscount reprises his role as Alfie.

The 29-year-old actor, who played Lily Collins’ Emily Cooper’s season 2 love interest, will be a series regular in season 3 of the romantic comedy, creator Darren Star announced on Sunday at PaleyFest during an Emily in Paris panel moderated by Janine Rubenstein, host of the PEOPLE Every Day podcast.

Collins, 33, discussed Laviscount’s casting during the event, saying that he “just fit right in” from the start.

“He didn’t even bother to audition. He sent me a tape, which Darren played for me. And it was clear immediately once that it was Alfie “Collins stated his opinion. “Without any talk, we just saw it and hopped on Zoom and just had a 45-minute conversation and you felt pretty comfortable, which is crazy to hear because you were so nervous.”

“Even on the first day, I thought to myself, “He’s the new guy, and he’s so cool.” What exactly is going on? And everyone on the team made a point of saying things like, “The new guy is so pleasant and nice,” from the hair and cosmetics department to the grips to the cameraman “she went on. “You just blended in as you’d always been there.”

Collins’ Emily began dating Laviscount’s Alfie in season 2, the charming London-born businessman who offered a long-distance relationship when he returned to his hometown, where his job is headquartered.

During the discussion, Laviscount expressed his admiration for his role to PEOPLE.

“I believe it is sincerity. And I believe his honesty shines through “He tells PEOPLE that he played Alfie. “I believe his perspective shifts and he becomes more aware of events. He’s unconcerned about what’s in front of him. And I believe he simply takes it in stride and moves on.”

“And I got to work with Lily Collins, so everything’s just amazing,” Laviscount continues, noting that despite being “the new kid” on set, she made him “feel at home.”

Emily in Paris was renewed for a second season by Netflix after season two. Seasons 3 and 4 were announced by the streaming platform in a video posted to the Emily in Paris Instagram account in January.

The phrase “New Year, New Possibilities” was featured in the short video clip, which combined scenes from Emily’s time in Paris.

Emily calls her former Savoir boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) with an answer on whether or not she will be extending her year abroad in Paris to work at the new marketing agency in the season finale cliffhanger. “I’m Sylvie, and I’d want to introduce myself. I’ve made up my mind, “Before the end credits began, Emily murmured something briefly.

Emily in Paris Season 2 is now available on Netflix.
