Cesar Millan, the fan-favorite dog trainer, is no longer married, although he was once married to Ilusion Wilson, who taught him how to be a better companion.
Millan was heartbroken when their marriage ended, and he considered suicide. Right around that time, a new woman, his now-fiancee Jahira Dar, joined his life and assisted him in moving on.
Illusion Wilson and Millan’s Marriage
Millan and Wilson’s romance is straight out of a romantic Hollywood film, albeit with a somewhat different ending.
When Wilson, then 17, saw the dog trainer, he was 23 years old, single, and living with his six dogs after escaping Mexico at the age of 21. After a brief friendship, the two became fast friends.
However, things took a turn for the worst when Millan learned that he could face jail time for dating an underage girl. He’d fled Mexico to avoid poverty, and he couldn’t risk deportation. He had no choice but to beg Wilson to stop seeing him.
Millan’s psychotherapist was heartbroken yet determined to stay with him.
So when she became 18, she went to him and the two began living together.
Months later, the adolescent discovered she was expecting a child. The dog trainer wasted no time in proposing to her. They married the same year, in 1994, and had their first child, Andre, the following year.
Millan, on the other hand, could not cherish their link, and their marriage fell apart within a year.
Wilson had been viewed by the Dog Whisperer host as a required asset rather than an equal partner.
Wilson discovered the value of family and his wife when he left him with their young son. As a result of the divorce, he agreed to go to treatment in order to rebuild his marriage. After six months, the couple reconciled.
Calvin, their second son, was born in 2001. Wilson, however, filed for divorce in July 2010 after 16 years of marriage.
He was devastated by his divorce.
Millan’s grief was exacerbated by the timing of the divorce. When faced with financial difficulties, he didn’t expect to see his years-long marriage crumble.
His depression had been aggravated by the loss of his 16-year-old dog, Daddy. He found out he was getting divorced three months later.
In the midst of all, the Culiacán native considered suicide. He prepared several pills and downed them, only to awaken in a psychiatric facility.
His children discovered him unresponsive and rushed him to the hospital.
In an interview with Today, Millan discussed the terrible incident, revealing that he was secretly requesting his children to take him to their property to die.
Following his recovery from the tragedy, the 51-year-old became aware of the effect he was making on everyone who came to see him.
So he resolved to make a positive change in his life, and the process became simpler after he rediscovered love in Jahira Dar in 2010.
After the divorce in April 2012, he also made apologies for his past, agreeing to pay a one-time payment of $400,000, monthly spousal support of $23,000, and monthly child support of $10,000.
In 2016, Millan got engaged to Jahira Dar.
Millan has been in a long-term relationship with Dar, a former stylist and wardrobe consultant, since August 2010, dispelling all LGBT suspicions.
In April 2016, he carried out his month-long proposal plan by surprising Dar with a trip to Spain. He changed her tickets to Greece without telling her and took her on a dinner date at the top of Mount Lycabettus in Athens.
While a musician serenaded them, the dog behaviorist got down on one knee and proposed to her.
In the same month, he gushed to People about his romantic proposal, stating he was proud of his flawless plan. He also spoke highly of his fiancée and detailed how she assisted him in rebuilding his life.
Millan praised Dar with all kinds of nice terms, like caring, peaceful, spiritual, intellectual, instinctual fun, and strong.
