According to their most recent Instagram photo together, Bruce Willis and Emma Heming Willis spent some time “off the grid.”

Last month, the couple celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary, and in romantic images taken by their 10-year-old daughter, Mabel Ray Willis, they nestled up to each other.

Emma captioned the photo, which showed her and the Die Hard star, 67, laughing with each other while resting on a fallen tree trunk in the woods, “Mom & Dad in their fave environment #offthegrid.”

Mabel, Emma’s 43-year-old photographer, was also credited.

The touching post follows the actor’s family’s announcement that he is retiring from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia.

Aphasia “robbing you of your ability to communicate” and “may damage your ability to talk, write, and interpret language, both verbal and written,” according to the Mayo Clinic. The group goes on to say that the condition is “After a stroke or a head injury, it usually happens all of a sudden. However, it can develop gradually as a result of a slow-growing brain tumor or an illness that causes lasting damage (degenerative).”

Emma thanked her supporters for rallying around her shortly after the announcement. Emma said on her Instagram Story last week, “Your love, support, compassion, and prayers really help.” “I’m grateful,” she says.

“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family, we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” his family wrote alongside a photo of him on Instagram, alongside news of his diagnosis and subsequent retirement.

“As a result of this, and after considerable thought,” the caption said, “Bruce is moving away from the career that has meant so much to him.”

“This is an extremely difficult time for us all,” the statement added, “and we are so appreciative of your continuous love, sympathy, and support.”

“We’re dealing with this as a strong family unit, and we wanted to include his fans because we know how much he means to you, just as you do to him. ‘Live it up,’ as Bruce usually says, and that is exactly what we intend to do “They signed the statement on behalf of the actor’s daughters Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, and Evelyn, as well as Emma and Bruce’s ex-wife Demi Moore.
