Jennifer Sloan, Jim Belushi’s wife, filed for divorce from the According to Jim star in March 2018, thus signaling the end of their nearly 20-year marriage.

They found a method to turn the corner and salvage the marriage just in time. Sloan changed his mind, and Belushi filed an appeal in court to have the divorce case canceled 13 months after it was filed.

Ironically, only a few days before their 21st wedding anniversary, the couple’s relationship got back on track.

The famous wife had initially filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleging “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. In addition, the wife had requested shared legal custody of their son Jared as well as spousal maintenance.

Sloan was working as a jewelry store clerk when the pair first met in 1993. Their friendship blossomed over time, and five years later, on May 2, 1998, they married.

Sloan spoke to People magazine in 2003 about her first date with the actor and her impressions of him. She explained:

Their two-decade marriage has resulted in the birth of two children. They have two children together: Jamison, a daughter, and Jared, a son.

Belushi is frequently seen on Instagram with his children, posting photos and videos. In December 2020 and January 2021, Belushi posted back-to-back videos on Instagram starring his daughter Jamison.

The father-daughter combo slipped on their dancing shoes and demonstrated their dance moves in the video, which was released in December 2020. “Some New Years’ fun with my favorite daughter @jamibelushi – toss her a follow if you haven’t already, she’s really funny!” read the caption. Did you notice how taro was walking in perfect step? Ha! “Dancing into the year 2021!!”

Similarly, in the other video, which was released in January 2021, Belushi and his daughter performed a song together on stage.

Belushi’s marriage to Sloan, however, was not his first. He had been married twice before, and his first marriage resulted in a child.

Sandra Davenport was his first wife, whom he married in 1980. Their marriage, however, barely lasted eight years, since they divorced in 1988. Robert Belushi, who followed in his father’s footsteps in the entertainment industry, was born to the couple.

Robert has appeared in films such as Heebie Jeebies, Thunderstruck, and Devil’s Due, as well as hosting the quiz program Get a Clue.

Marjorie Bransfield was his second wife, with whom he was married from 1990 to 1992.
