Calum Scott is an openly homosexual singer and songwriter who rocketed to stardom after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent in 2015.

On National Coming Out Day in 2018, he came out in public, sharing his moving tale through a YouTube video.

Scott claimed in the four-minute video that he first told his best friend, who, after learning the truth, distanced himself from the artist. He was constantly losing pals and feeling lonely and confused.

The ‘You Are The Reason’ singer also admitted that telling his mum about his feelings was “one of the most terrible things” he has ever done.

Scott, like a needle in a haystack, discovered a means to overcome his loneliness and perplexity. He believes that music has helped him express himself and enjoy himself.

As a result, the 32-year-old singer believes that appearing on Britain’s Got Talent in 2015 gave him the guts to share his tale and provided him with a platform to grow.

With the help of his music, Scott now feels a responsibility to motivate people to talk about themselves by starting the “correct type of discussions.”

“I’m sure there are people, young and old, who are grappling with the same issues and suffering from the same anxiety and grief. I compose music because I want to elicit the correct kinds of responses from people “In the video, the singer noted.

“If one less child grows up without having to hide who they are along the way of believing that who they love will make them lonely, then everything I went through will have been worth it,” he continued.

During an interview with Attitude magazine in November 2018, the ‘Dancing On My Own’ singer revealed that he has what it takes to be a father.

He stated that he would like to have his own child.

He also made it clear that he was unmarried at the time and that he needed to find a partner before starting a family. He replied, “It will always be a target. I’m far too preoccupied.”

Scott has dated both men and women in the past, including musician Sam Smith.
