As Johnny Depp testified that Amber Heard was abusive, his attorneys played recorded conversations from his marriage.

As Johnny Depp testified that Amber Heard was abusive, his attorneys played recorded conversations from his marriage.

On Wednesday, Johnny Depp continued to testify that his ex-wife Amber Heard was the aggressor in their relationship, recounting how she cut part of his finger when she hurled a vodka bottle at him and played a taped conversation in which she admitted to beating him for the court.

Depp is suing Heard for $50 million for defamation after she claimed she was a victim of domestic violence in a Washington Post op-ed in 2018. Despite the fact that Heard did not name Depp in the op-ed, his attorneys claim it is inferred that it is about him, and they are demanding $50 million in damages for lost movie parts and other possibilities as a result of the allegations that he was abusive.

Depp’s legal team aired audio recordings produced during his and Heard’s marriage during his testimony on Wednesday. Depp tells Heard that she flung pots and pans at him in one of the scenes, which she confirms. Depp informs Heard in another scene that she kicked the bathroom door, which injured him, but she claims she can’t recall because she was on Ambien at the time.

Heard admits to punching Depp in another taped chat, but she disagrees with him when he claims she punched him.

In the audio clip, Heard says, “I did not punch you.” “I didn’t fuck with you. I was fucking hitting you.

Heard continues, “You’re a fucking baby.” “You’re such a knucklehead.” Johnny, you need to grow up. I did initiate a violent altercation.”

Heard is set to testify later in the trial, and her counsel said during opening comments that Depp physically and sexually abused her on several occasions during their marriage, frequently when he was under the influence of narcotics or alcohol.

Heard’s lawyer said that Depp assaulted her because she made fun of one of his tattoos. Depp testified on Wednesday that this never happened and that he has “never struck” Heard or any other woman.

“I’m not going to hit a woman because she makes fun of a tattoo I have on my body,” Depp stated. “It’s like going through someone’s diary and highlighting the stuff you don’t like.”

Depp and Heard met on the set of The Rum Diary in 2009 and married in 2015. Heard filed for divorce a year later, accusing Depp of beating her. Depp then accused her of “falsely alleging abuse” in order to “get a quick money settlement.”

Depp also recalled the event in Australia in 2015 in which the tip of his finger was amputated during his testimony on Wednesday. Depp testified that the wound occurred when she flung a vodka bottle at him, despite Heard’s attorneys’ claims that he harmed himself.

According to Depp, the confrontation occurred after he locked himself in a toilet to hide from Heard as she chastised him for signing a post-nuptial arrangement. Depp walked downstairs after hearing Heard go and poured himself shots of vodka. He claimed that when she found him, she hurled two vodka bottles at him, the second of which severed his finger. She also put out Depp’s cigarette on his cheek, according to him.

Depp claims he lied to the doctor about what happened when he went to the emergency room, telling him he broke his finger in a door.

Depp claimed on Wednesday, “I lied because I didn’t want to reveal that it was what it was.” “I didn’t want to reveal that Ms. Heard was the one who threw the vodka bottle at me and then yanked my finger off.” I didn’t want to embarrass her. I made every effort to keep things as calm and simple as possible for everyone.”

Depp reportedly mentioned the intense burning he felt as he examined the exposed finger bone, which was gushing blood.

Depp told the court, “I don’t know what a nervous breakdown feels like, but that was probably the closest I’ve ever come.” “Nothing made sense, and I knew in my heart and soul that this wasn’t real life… This is something that no one should have to go through.”

Depp said that Heard threw blows at him in 2015, and that when he tried to stop her by throwing his arms around her, she accused him of head butting her and fracturing her nose.

She later showed Depp a crimson Kleenex, indicating her nose had bled, he added. Depp said he investigated the tissue after Heard tossed it away and found red nail paint on it, not blood.

Heard was also violently aggressive, according to him, after he was late to her 30th birthday dinner in April 2016. He instructed his security crew to accompany him to his Los Angeles penthouse the next day, after she had left to attend Coachella. His security informed him that wasn’t a smart idea, then gave him a photo of what he thought was human feces on his side of the bed, according to Depp.

Depp told the court, “I laughed.” “It was so outside. I couldn’t help but chuckle since it was so strange and disgusting.”

Depp stated agents and producers stopped calling him to work with him after Heard was granted a temporary restraining order in May 2016. He claimed he buried his pain from his ex’s claims while on tour with his band that summer.

“I remember finishing the gig, getting on the bus with the other band members, and simply going to the rear of the bus, and you just had to get it out,” Depp explained. “So I simply sat in the back of the bus and cried and tried to hide it from the other passengers.”

Depp said he lost “nothing less of everything” after Heard’s op-ed was published.
