Billy Gardell is a devoted husband to his wife Patty as well as a talented actor and comedian. After two decades of marriage, the pair is still going strong.

Early Years

Gardell was born in 1969 in Pennsylvania and raised in Orange County, Florida. After his parents divorced, he and his mother went to Florida with his other siblings. The stand-up comedian believes that growing up in Florida influenced him positively.

Gardell previously appeared in the television series Mike & Molly before starring in Bob Hearts Abiola. He also appeared in Young Sheldon and the CBT series Sun Records. In 2016, Gardell was nominated for an Emmy for his role as the host of Monopoly Millionaires Club.

Before joining Mike & Molly, the comic made an appearance on the critically acclaimed sitcom Lucky. The Practice, Monk, Gary the Rat, Judging Amy, Yes Dear, and My Name is Earl are among the actor’s other credits.

Gardell built a name for himself as an actor, appearing in Avenging Angelo alongside Antony Quinn and Sylvester Stallone. In the film Bad Santa, he had a notable performance alongside Billy Bob Thornton.

Gardell Talks About His Happy Marriage’s Success

Since 2001, the actor and his wife, Patty Knight, have been happily married. William III was born two years after the couple married. The actor has also stated that when his son reaches the age of adolescence, he may resign from acting in order to spend more time with himself and his family.

Gardell considers himself blessed to have Knight as his wife. His duty, he claims, is to simply give over all of his checks to her, and she will take care of the rest. Even the comic quipped that his wife never gives him more than $500 at a time.

When asked about the key to their long-lasting marriage, the actor stated that he did not believe in the concept of giving and taking in a relationship. Rather, he feels that in marriage, one should give more. He joked that if a man performed everything his wife requested him to do, he would have no problems.

While the actor admitted that his wife was not always correct, he also stated that she was never incorrect. Gardell also revealed that Kelly Clarkson was a great fan of his wife.

While the actor is involved in charitable endeavors, he is very frugal with his funds. When a person achieves prosperity, Gardell believes it is his or her job to be more generous to others.

The actor considers himself fortunate to have a son like William, whom he describes as gentle and compassionate. At the same time, Gardell believes that youngsters are suffering as a result of the global pandemic.
