Tammy Bruce of Fox News Lost Her Girlfriend in a Tragic Accident – A Look at Her Personal Life and Net Worth
Tammy Bruce was in her twenties when she had to deal with the grief of losing her partner Brenda Benet.
Bruce, who had always identified as bisexual but chose to identify as a lesbian, was planning to marry Benet. Her relationship with the actress, however, did not end happily, and information about her personal life ceased flowing after that.
Benet was traumatized by her death.
Bruce worked as Benet’s secretary on Days Of Our Lives. Benet was going through a period of mourning at the time. She had been grieving the loss of her son as well as her recent divorce from her ex-husband Bill Bixby.
After 10 years of marriage and a child, the actress divorced Bixby in 1979. Then, on March 1, 1981, her son, Christopher Sean Bixby, died of a rare childhood ailment called acute epiglottitis, adding to her grief.
Bruce remained close to Benet during all of this. They began dating again after Benet’s divorce (it was previously rumored that they had dated), and this time they even moved in together in a house in Mandeville Canyon in west Los Angeles.
Their relationship, however, did not endure long. They split up in March 1982 for unexplained reasons, although appeared to be on good terms. Unbeknownst to Bruce, a tragedy would hit her life two weeks later.
Bruce had booked a lunch with Benet for April 7, 1982. When she arrived at Benet’s residence, however, she discovered that Benet had locked herself in the bathroom. She contacted the cops, but by the time they arrived, it was too late.
When police arrived, they broke down the door only to find Benet dead. She had shot herself in the head with a.38 caliber bullet, killing herself in the process.
Bruce was so shaken by the experience that she had a nervous breakdown. Benet’s ex-husband, Bill Bixby, paid her full hospital bill when she ended up in the hospital for a few days.

She’d already come out when she was in her twenties.
Bruce was born on August 20, 1962, and grew up in poverty. One obstacle was never knowing her father, another was rarely seeing her hardworking store clerk mother, and the third was growing up with her homosexuality.
She realized she was unusual from a young age and boldly identified as a lesbian. Despite being a conservative, she actively became a gay-lesbian activist, organizing marches and lobbying legislators for LGBT and women’s rights, thanks to her understanding of media influence.
Surprisingly, the Northridge native emphasizes that not all conservatives are anti-LGBT. Many conservatives follow the church and have a different stance on homosexuality than she does, she said in an interview with The Guardian in October 2010. She went on to say that, contrary to popular assumption, conservatives are more understanding.
