On April 27, 2008, the couple had planned to marry on a yacht. The wedding, however, had to be canceled due to Remy Ma’s conviction.

Regardless, they wanted to marry, so they arranged for it to take place while they were incarcerated. However, this was not possible due to a misunderstanding.

Papoose was accused of smuggling a key into the prison in order to assist his accomplice in escaping. He was prohibited from seeing Remy Ma for the next six months as a result of this.

Florio stated that when the alleged attack occurred, the rapper had already returned from the benefit performance and was caring for her daughter.

He claimed to have surveillance video to back up his claim.

Despite this, the rapper surrendered to authorities and was released on $1,500 bail.

All charges were withdrawn in December after the case was taken to court for several months.
