China Mac Talks About Serving Time In Prison For Her Ex-Girlfriend
China Mac shares the screen with current girlfriend Yaya Flawless in a highly personal film to discuss a turbulent prior relationship. The gang member-turned-rapper had a beautiful connection with his first serious girlfriend, according to the video. Long before they became romantically involved, they were supportive of each other and their friends.
However, the girlfriend in question was arrested at the age of 18 for assaulting an unnamed girl in a club. When Mac, whose actual name is Raymond Yu, heard the news, he called the victim and verbally insulted her. Raymond was taken into custody not long after for threatening the victim over the phone.
As Yu explains in the video, the ex-girlfriend came from a wealthy family, and as a result, she was bailed out, leaving Mac to battle cases on parole for a year.
However, after their release, the former couple continued a wonderful relationship until a tragic occurrence but a dismal shadow over their blossoming romance.
China Mac Risked Being Arrested In Prison To See His Girlfriend
Later, the ex-girlfriend became involved in yet another case, culminating in three years in prison. According to the YouTube video, her absence had an emotional impact on the artist.
Raymond went to a bar with a gun in 2003, while his then-partner was still in prison. The YouTuber was allegedly affected by his ex’s absence, leading him to shoot rapper Christopher Louie while upset, paralyzing Louie.
Following the violent outburst, the distraught rapper sought out the one person he knew who could help him: his girlfriend, who was in prison. Yes, someone who had just shot a man walked right to Rikers Island to see his cherished companion. The hip-hop artist, believe it or not, escaped Rikers Island and went into hiding.
While on the run, the disturbed lover kept in touch with his accomplice until he posted a letter terminating their connection.
China Mac was arrested and sentenced to 11 years in prison for attempted murder after a period of time, before being released in 2014.
Mac Has Retired From The Life Of Crime
According to Nextshark.com, Raymond Yu grew up in the home of the Flying Dragons, a vicious Chinese American gang known and feared for their stories of killings, kidnappings, and drug trafficking.
Despite his protests against the Flying Dragons’ cruelty, Mac couldn’t help but fall into the criminal underworld.
At the age of 12, the ‘The Arrival’ vocalist joined the Ghost Shadows Gang as G-Kay, conducting robberies and drug selling.
However, fast forward to now, and we have a completely different person. The ex-prisoner-turned-musician has penned a bevy of catchy tunes and attracted millions of fans thanks to a well-known YouTube channel.
Apart from that, the well-known rapper is also a vocal opponent of hate crimes and violence against Asian Americans.
Yaya Flawless Is In A Serious Relationship With Mac
Yaya Flawless appears to be dating the criminal-turned-activist. Yaya is 25 years old, having been born on November 22, 1995.
Yaya had a cameo appearance in Mac’s music video for ‘The Arrival,’ and the two collaborated on a song called ‘Gummo’ (Remix of Gummo). Barbie and Mac, the rapper couple’s second YouTube channel, is now live. However, the videos have yet to be released.
Mac has never married or had a wife as of 2020. However, the current girlfriend Yaya is expected to have a great future. On the screen, anyone may see their connection and compatibility. However, neither Yaya nor China Mac’s Instagram feeds have any photos of each other, so we can’t say for certain if the two are still together.
Nonetheless, the activist/artist has gone a long way from being a mobster to finding love, a career, a fantastic outlet, and a platform to speak out against injustices.
