Cold Case, CSI: Miami, Medium, The New Normal, and Parks and Recreation are just a few of Peter Porte’s film and television credits.
The actor received his bachelor’s degree in acting from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He continued his schooling at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in Paris, Hong Kong, and London (RADA).
After that, he performed with the Mamma Mia! National Touring Company on Broadway before settling in Los Angeles.
He joined the cast of The Young and the Restless as a series regular in 2011, playing Ricky Williams. Following his tenure on the show, Porte went on to have recurring parts on Lifetime’s Devious Maids for four seasons and Baby Daddy for six seasons.
He also appeared in CBS’ Mom, NCIS: LA, and Fox’s New Girl, as well as the Hallmark Channel original movies Love, Once and Always, A Gift to Remember, Love at the Shore, and Rome in Love.
Despite his success as an actor, Porte rarely discusses his life behind the camera. If you’ve been following the actor’s career, you’re already aware that he’s gay and married to Jacob Jules Villere.
Here’s how Porte’s marriage went down.
His Husband and Peter Porte
Although the date of the actor’s wedding to his wife is unknown, on July 1, 2018, Porte shared a series of photos with the remark “Laissez les Bon temps rouler,” which translates to “let the good times roll.” Messages of congratulations flooded the post’s comment section.
The photographs look to be from his wedding celebrations, but nothing is certain.
The actor keeps his connection with his husband quiet, and even when he posts images of him on Instagram, he keeps it under wraps. The couple, on the other hand, appears to like traveling and has visited a variety of locations, as evidenced by their social media posts.
Porte disclosed in the caption of a photo of him and his husband on a yacht in Marina del Rey, California, on January 5, 2021, that they were qualified sailors. The couple was seen skiing in Aspen, Colorado, in another photo.
Villere is a corporate banker, according to many publications.
LGBTQ Representation, according to Peter Porte
The actor may be discreet about his personal life, but he is a major supporter of LGBTQ rights.
Last December, Porte starred alongside Juan Pablo Di Pace in the romantic holiday film Dashing in December. Porte discussed what it meant to him as a queer guy to finally portray a homosexual love story in this genre in an interview with GLAAD.
He explained that there weren’t many inclusive stories or movies when he was growing up, so he accepted the stereotype that Christmas movies were about “beautiful white heterosexual people.”
He went on to say that he was looking forward to giving young LGBT children a new perspective on classic Christmas classics.
