Michelle Branch Celebrates Her Pregnancy with New Cravings and the 10th Anniversary of ‘The Spirit Room’
Michelle Branch is expecting her second child after a terrible miscarriage.
On August 15, the Grammy Award winner announced that she and her husband, Patrick Carney, were expecting their second child via Instagram. The couple married in April 2019 and welcomed their first child, Rhys James Carney, shortly after.
The branch is also the mother to Owen Isabelle, a teen daughter she has with her ex-husband Tony Landau.
She shared a photo of a batch of scones she cooked on Instagram, explaining that she did it to satisfy her pregnancy cravings.
Her husband was her “hero (as always)” for rushing to the market first thing in the morning in search of double cream for the recipe, she wrote in the caption.
The ‘Goodbye to You’ singer went on to say that she was both pleased and terrified to announce the birth of their second child in early 2022.
Branch’s Tragedy of Miscarriage
The singer revealed that she had experienced a miscarriage in an honest Instagram post in late December 2020. A sequence of photographs from her holiday celebrations with relatives was juxtaposed with the statement.
She described the frenetic nature of 2020 in the caption, as well as recent happenings in her life. She mentioned that the year 2020 finished with a bang, referring to the Christmas Day bombing at an AT&T network hub in Downtown Nashville.
She went on to say that things became worse after she had her first miscarriage and that she spent her time crying and binge-eating Christmas cookies. However, she had stopped crying and was now dressed appropriately for the occasion.
The singer ended her statement on a positive note, noting that her loved ones, including her husband, sister, and children, had been the MVPs, and she couldn’t fathom spending a year alone with anyone else. She wishes everyone a nice holiday season.
The Spirit Room’s 20th Anniversary Celebration at Branch
Branch was honoring the 20th anniversary of her first album, The Spirit Room, by recording a new version of the song “You Get Me,” as well as re-recording the album and publishing it on vinyl for the first time just days before she announced her pregnancy.
With the publication of The Spirit Room in 2001, Branch established himself as a true celebrity.
She started writing the album at the age of 16 and finished it at the age of 18. Singles like ‘Everywhere’ and ‘Goodbye to You’ are charted at the top of the Billboard.
The Grammy winner stated in an interview with the Independent that the album was still a part of her identity.
The branch is also planning a live-streamed anniversary event for September 11th, as well as the release of the album’s complete re-recording.
With a baby on the way and the release of her record, the singer seemed to have a lot to be happy about.
