Actor Jacob Gibson is overjoyed and “struggling to find the words” to express his feelings over being cast as Usopp, a popular One Piece character. Gibson will soon be seen in Netflix’s forthcoming live action series Usopp, bringing the renowned anime character to life.
After being confirmed for the part, the 25-year-old actor took to Instagram a few days ago to convey his feelings. Gibson shared a slew of photos and videos on social media, including a screengrab of Usopp, to express his enthusiasm for the live-action show.

The actor’s photo was followed by a long message in which he described his tremendous emotions. Gibson added in the lengthy post that “it begins and ends with appreciation for now and always,” and that he’s “overwhelmed with a feeling of purpose throughout it all.”
The actor emphasized that “this project,” “this narrative,” and “this character” are among his “biggest honors,” and that “the opportunity to breathe life into Usopp” is one of his “greatest privileges.”
Gibson praised the One Piece “fans and family,” “Netflix,” and “the creators” for their support and trust in the middle of his work.
He also thanked “everyone” and “everything” for being there for him during his big moment.
Gibson praised the live-action series’ cast and crew, calling them “wonderful,” and writing that he “cannot wait to bring it to life.” The actor ended his lengthy essay by referring to his character Usopp, who aspires to be a valiant sea warrior in the long-running anime series.
