One of Kathy’s favorite pastimes, according to Zip Code Magazine, is giving back to the community, which she does by reaching out to children and families in need.
Greg Maddux’s wife has teamed up with Cub Wives to help a family in need.
It all began in the year 1990. Kathy joined an organization called Cub Wives for Family Rescue while Greg was playing for the Chicago Cubs. The charity is run by the wives of the Chicago Cubs to support families in need, as the name implies.
“As part of the group, I started volunteering and fundraising for a battered women’s shelter,” she told the site.
“When I returned to Vegas, I began volunteering with Safe Nest.”
Safe Nest was a community-based refuge that advocated for and promoted the abolition of domestic violence. It provided confidential housing, food, clothes, counseling, education, and other services to its clients with the utmost decency and respect.
Kathy began by providing training, assisting in the office, answering phones, and bringing the children on field trips.
The Maddux Foundation was founded by Greg Maddux and his wife.
She eventually learned that there were other groups in need of aid. As a result, Kathy and Greg established The Maddux Foundation in 1993. She told the outlet years later,
Greg has served as Vice President, his wife Kathy as President, and her sister and brother-in-law as board members since the organization’s establishment. It’s also worth noting that none of the board members has been or will be compensated for their participation.
Apart from Safe Nest, which has been a major benefactor of the Maddux Foundation, the foundation supports a variety of charities. Candlelighters, Child Haven, and the Boys & Girls Club are just a few of the other charities.
