In 2021, Kathryn Hahn drew a lot of notice for her portrayal of Agatha Harkness in WandaVision. Harkness is a witch who disguises herself as Wanda Maximoff’s neighbor in order to exploit Maximoff’s lovely world in order to harness her magic.
In WandaVision, Hahn’s adversarial portrayal of the character, as well as her evil aspirations, made her stand out and presented her to a broader audience. As brilliant as her portrayal of Harkness was, her wildest performance to date was in the 2008 comedy Step Brothers.
In Step Brothers, Hahn played Alice Huff. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly starred in the film. The story revolved on the events that occur after Brennan (Ferrell) and Dale (Reilley) are brought together as step-siblings after their parents marry.
While Brennan and Dale’s interactions throughout the film are funny, Alice, played by Hahn, was a standout for many. Alice wants to leave her husband, Derek (Adam Scott), for Dale, who is Brennan’s blood brother.
There were other situations in Step Brothers that emphasized Alice’s bizarre behavior, including one where she makes out with Dale after he knocks Derek out for tormenting him and Brennan. Her spouse and children remain in the car during the entire scene.
Another sequence in the film that made Alice one of the most famous characters was when she seduced Dale in a restaurant’s men’s room.
‘Step Brothers’ Kathryn Hahn on Improvising
While the aforementioned sequences highlight Alice’s malevolent nature in Step Brothers, Hahn has admitted that the film might have been considerably darker. Hahn and the rest of the cast improvised a lot for the film, and one scene, in particular, was so dark that it didn’t make the final edit.
Family of Kathryn Hahn
In Step Brothers, Alice is unhappy with her relationship with Derek and acts inappropriately toward Dale, even in front of her children. Her family, on the other hand, is the polar opposite of Alice’s in the film.
Ethan Sandler, Hahn’s husband, has been her husband since January 3, 2002. Leonard (born October 2006) and Mae (born October 2007) are their two children (born July 27, 2009).
Hahn previously chatted with Cleveland about her demanding acting career and parenting children. Her spouse is also an actor, writer, and producer, and the nature of their jobs required them to travel frequently.
Hahn used to carry her children everywhere with her, which she claims reduced her earnings. Despite the costs of traveling with her children, the actress stated that it was all worthwhile.
