Making it big in the music industry takes years of dedication, experience, and hard work. And there’s no denying it. However, outstanding talents such as Lil Migo, actual name Adarious Smith, are exempt.
Within two years of breaking into the hip-hop scene, the remarkable musician had accomplished feats that most aspiring rappers could only dream of.
Here’s a quick recap of Migo’s life so you can get to know him as you’ve never known him before.
Who is Lil Migo and where did he come from?
Lil Migo was born on March 1, 1997, in Memphis, Tennessee, the epicenter of the southern hip-hop music culture. He was born and reared in Memphis, which is known for its musical prowess as well as, unfortunately, its tough environment.
During an interview with Vlad TV on September 1, 2020, Migo discussed the difficulties he encountered as a child in his village. According to his story, he lived his first seven years with his mother and father.
His parents divorced when he was just eight years old. Despite the divorce, Migo claimed that he spent meaningful time with both of them, albeit in different ways.
The happiness didn’t last long, though, since Migo’s father died of seafood poisoning in 2010. When the catastrophe occurred, he was 15 years old.
Migo stated that his uncles and masculine figures in his life helped him get through the tragedy by filling the vacuum left by his father’s absence. His relatives, on the other hand, were powerless to shield him from the dangers that lurked in the environment.
The 24-year-old described his upbringing in Memphis as difficult, describing a city rife with drugs, murders, and shootings. He also described living in the city as being surrounded by mafia organizations.
His Uncle influenced his career path.
Without his uncle’s help, Migo would not have been the sensation he is today.
In his early years, the young musician had little interest in rapping. His uncle, a rapper, created lyrics and made Migo record in the studio from the time he was a child.
As a result, at the age of 14, he was already writing songs.
Despite the odds, his uncle continued to support him, and he improved day by day.
Finally, in December 2018, Migo had a lightbulb moment.
He had spent so much time producing songs without realizing it, but he resolved to take things more seriously from that point forward.
The Ascension of Lil Migo
Migo began working on his debut song, ‘Rockstar,’ in early 2019 and released it in the spring of 2019.
Surprisingly, his first single was a smash hit that went viral on the internet. ‘Mud 2 the Plug,’ a compilation of the hip-hop artist’s loose singles, was published the same year.
Following that, Migo received a lot of attention after Yo Gotti openly offered him a $500,000 deal on Instagram. In November 2019, he made headlines once more after signing with the record label Heavy Camp/CMG.
Migo debuted his rapping skills with the release of his EP Price of Fame in January 2020, as well as his single “Letter to the Audience.”
He continued his burgeoning career into 2021, kicking out the year with a bang. He unveiled his next project, ‘King of the Trap,’ on March 10, 2021. Migo stated that he was eager to carve out his own path and make his hometown proud.
The album was a culmination of his efforts to deliver 15 new tracks, with guest appearances from well-known rappers like Gotti, 42 Dugg, Rich the Kid, Jacques, and Blac Youngsta, among others.
